Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Great location...adequate place to stay Anonymous, 2006-12-30 Right across from Dorney Park and close to many restaurants. Great location.Score 4 out of 5 Good Family hotel to visit Anonymous, 2006-09-17 1. Perkins and Dunkin Doughnuts are across the street. The hotel was fine for our visit, which included being close to the activities that we had planned. The people were friendly and accommodating. The food was appropriate, although not better than average (comp breakfast). It appears that more attention to this area would be recommended. We would like to see maintenance done on the outside doors. They didn't shut via the door closure; hence, security of the building is compromised. Additionally, rocks were being used to prop open the doors, so this creates no security. A review of this is necessary. If hese two items were addressed, we would be glad to stay there again. If not, we would seek accommodations elsewhere. Overall the people were friendly and nice to deal with. Score 1 out of 5 Not that good james, 2006-02-19 This is the worst experience my wife and I have had. The room wasn't "overly nice" when we got in to it and the cable tv didn't work. Score 5 out of 5 Clean, comfortable and convenient Anonymous, New York, NY, 2005-10-23 This hotel is located within minutes of Dorney Park. There are several different places to eat within a five to ten minute drive. From Burger King to King Georges Inn. Lots of strip malls, grocery stores, Target and Walmart. It's about a 30 minute drive to the Mall and the movie theaters. Right off the 78 West exit. Convenient to everything. The Howard Johnsons Inn Allentown, PA was a very welcome retreat on a hectic weekend. I was visiting my daughter at the college less than a half-mile away. The room was spacious and very clean. Different from other places I had stayed in the area when visiting. The check-in process took less than 10 minutes and all of the staff was very accomadating. From the young woman at the front desk to the housekeeping ladies and gentlemen. The fact that the bathroom and sink area were separate was a pleasure, sice two of us could get things done at the same time and we didn't feel rushed. I especially was happy to have a small refridgerator as well as a microwave and coffeepot. The close proximity to a restaurant, within walking distance, was great. Not to mention the complimentary breakfast at Howard Johnsons. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I now have a hote of choice when I visit Allentown. The room was small, very unkept, dirty and OLD. The bathroom was old, the toilet handle had to be held down for a couple of seconds to flush, the shower was dispictable and there was hardly any water pressure. Truthfully I thought it was a dive. I couldn't wait to get out of there! |
