The location is literally just down a flight of stairs and you're in downtown Bend. I'll definitely stay there again for that reason, if no other. You have to visit the Volcano Wine Company's tasting room on Brooks Street. You can sample some of the best wines of Oregon including award winning Volcano Syrah and Merlot along with Medici Chardonney. The bignets at Merenda's Restaurant ae better than New Orleans.Unlike most hotels, the Bend Phoenix Inn goes out of its way to be friendly, helpful and caring. They provide a lobby computer to check e mail and responded quickly when the printer ran out of ink. The breakfast buffet is not only good but the ladies who take care of it do so with pride and are great people. Convenience in location and parking are a plus. It's a quiet facility and a pleasant way to get a good night's sleep. We stayed eight nights on this trip and found a consistency to their service. I really like this hotel. I wish I had more time to check it all out.I have never had such an array of wonderful choices for breakfast. Fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, breads & muffins, biscuits & gravy, waffles made to order. You could even make yourself a breakfast burrito. The food was well stocked with a helpful staff and plenty of seating. Or you could enjoy breakfast in the privacy of your own room, as I did, sitting on the couch and watching TV. The only thing that I was disappointed in about this hotel were the beds. They were much to firm. Other than that, the overall stay was great. Express check-out was a nice plus! |
