The location was perfect for our trip. It is clean. The bed was very comfortable. The room was small but adequate. Over all, I was pleased with the hotel and would stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Comfortable and service-minded Karl, 2006-09-16 Peet's Coffee Shopthe Benson Hotel first was very convenient for us and our son who we were visiting. Beds and pillows good; a good full shower head. Staff was very friendly and more than willing to help any time we needed help or advice. Our baggage was stored for us when we needed to be away for a couple days. Suggestions for trans-portation and restaurants were satisfying. A very nice experience. We especially thank the bellman. Easy walks to a lot of the sites you will want to visit. A lot of old-school charm -- a beautiful wood lounge downstairs, a great piano bar, and an incredibly helpful staff. From valets to check-in staff to servers in the restuarants, they all know how to treat guests with luxury without being overbearing. The only complaint would be the lack of amenities or family-friend options. There is no pool. There are no casual dining options, meaning that you feel the glares of gentlemen reading their Wall Street Journals as your children scream that they want more waffles. And the rooms are a bit small, but of course, that's not surprising for an older hotel. All in all, a great recommendation for the childless couple or the business trip, but not ideal for families traveling with kids. We walked to starbucks each morning as well as Nortstroms, Banana Republic and other great stores.I had a wonderful experience at the Benson Hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely. The bathroom was clean, nice and great water preasure. The Concierge was very knowledgeable and even gave us a list of bars with live bands to find. I met a friend there for the weekend and we enjoyed the lounge and the Jazz band. The food and cocktails were perfect, the best green apple martini in town. |
