At the Hotel Seagate, not only do you get an unbeatable view of the river, you are situated in the heart of downtown Toledo's business district and attached to the Seagate Convention Center, across the street from the Maumee River. You are only four blocks from COSI-hands on Center of Science and Industry. Erie Street Market (restaurants) are within 1/2 mile. Toledo's Art Museum, Zoo all within 3 miles. University of Toledo and Stranahan Theater - 6 miles away.
Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Great Location, Bad check in staff. Craig, 2006-07-12 Lots of choices on dining and nightlife with the convention center and baseball field practically attached. The check in was worst part of the experience. The one person available was visiting on a personal call and showed no class or regard to customer service. I had 3 questions, none of which she cared about. My previous stay was somewhat similar. The rooms were OK but I am not a fussy person. I know that many people would have objected relative to how clean the room was. The location is great with lots of opportunites for dining and entertainment. I would recommend it to a friend with the footnote of you get what you pay for. The descriminating hotel dweller would not be as impressed. Score 1 out of 5 Only For Sleeping Anonymous, 2006-06-12 There is very little shopping in downtown Toledo. It is primarily a business city. The hotel is old and in a renovation mode. There were supposed to be ice machines on the even numbered floors. I tried all floors, and found two machines. Only one worked. There were supposed to be vending machines, but the only exisitng soft drink machine was in the lobby. The telephone didn't work most of the time. When I asked about it, I was told to go back and check it,and if it still did,nt work, call them, and let them know.. HOW?.The parking was right next door which was convenient, but there were no in and out options. You paid every time you left. I CHECKED OUT EARLY. Score 3 out of 5 Hotel Accommodations/Good Value Christina, 2006-03-26 We were in a group of four and felt very comfortable walking around at night. For the price we paid the accomodations were fine. The room was very comforatable and clean. We were dissappointed that the swimming pool was closed for repair. Thank you for providing a coffee pot. It was close to the locations were were visiting. Withing walking distance. We would stay there again if we went to Toledo. Score 1 out of 5 Would not recomend anyone to stay karen, 2006-03-06 The Hotel Seagate was very dirty and runned down. The pool was not open because of work being done on it. This was not told to us by the hotel when we called to reconfirm reservations. The parking is not free you have to pay $11.00 a day which when I called the hotel I asked about the parking and there again was not informed of the pay for parking. We checked out the next morning. Score 1 out of 5 LOUSY Jerry, Spokane, WA, 2005-11-14 Convention Center, Mud Hens Stadium, Murphy's Jazz ClubMy room was makeshift and filthy! In a 36 hour period there was no hot water. I checked out the next day to find better accomodations. Score 2 out of 5 Hotel in need of revamp Ronny, 2005-08-21 A couple of nice dining options by using the water taxi to the other side of the river. Great on a nice summer's day !Clearly the Hotel Seagate is in need of a serious revamp. Seems like no investments have been performed on the hotel for the last 5 years. Elevators are dirty, room furniture is old and sratched, curtains need to be fixed, wireless internet connection hardly works, etc... Too many issues to be able to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. |
