Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Gorgeous Hotel Anonymous We were very close to the Art Museum and the Eastman House. We were very impressed with the looks of the hotel, both outside and inside. The lobby was very impressive and the vodka bar was very cool. Our room was attractive, and had a terrific view and a very luxurious comfortable bed. We had breakfast in the restaurant twice, and the waiters were extremely friendly and made the meal a lot of fun. Score 5 out of 5 Restful break Kay, 2006-09-24 We took a long run through the downtown area and saw some fabulous waterfalls and many of the old structures of Rochester. Not far from the hotel are some of the very interesting parts of Rochester--the fine arts museum, the science museum, the Eastman house and even a Frank Lloyd Wright residence. It is always a pleasure to stay at the Hyatt; it is well maintained and one has a sense of a 'sure bet'. This time we stayed only a night; and found ourselves a little bemused by the parking situation and the tv remote--neither of which was easily manageable. But the rooms are very pleasant and comfortable--no errant air conditioning or heating system to beat--and always a friendly and helpful staff. Lots of towels, enough covers for the iffy season, and a central location. Its downtown location makes it very convenient to the myriad locations of relatives' houses, and it is easy to get in and out of the area. There is some construction going on and the hotel could have better signage to orient arriving guests and we did do some battle with the tv remote--it may have been just a dud or an hotel problem; both should be addressed. For the size of the city, Rochester, you can not find a better place. The room was comfortable but i was taken back to the fact i had to pay for internet access. The hotel seemed to want to attract business clients and yet internet is the one amenity that is always offered in other hotels i stay at. |
