Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Good Location Anonymous, Detroit, MI, 2007-03-14 The Tickex Booth is just across the street for getting your broadway tickets. The room was small but comfortable. The location can't be beat less than 1 block from Times Square. The Concierage was not helpful, you could really tell that he would only get information for you if he would get a tip from the company that he was recommending. I would definitely stay there, because of comfort and location. Score 3 out of 5 Great Lobby Amy, Chicago, IL, 2007-03-05 The Paramount is centrally located and across the street from the best cupcakes I've had in my entire life (the Starbucks and the Marriott Marquis). The rooms were all white so they looked more dirty than a regular hotel room, just because you didn't see the dirt. There weren't enough wall outlets to plug things in like cell phones and hair dryers, and there weren't enough mirrors. It was difficult for two people to get ready to go out at once. The beds were comfortable and the lobby was a fun place to hang out and wait for people to meet up with us. I wouldn't recommend people stay here - I think the Phillipe Stark design gives the rooms a cold, uncomfortable feel. But the price was great and made it worth it. Score 5 out of 5 Good Time Was Had By All! Anonymous, 2007-03-05 Great little pizza and bagel shop, on other side of Dean and Deluccas. Or the Roxy, around the corner on Broadway.Rooms are typically small and haven't been updated in many years but for the value and location, a great deal. Great bar on 2nd floor. 1/2 block off Broadway and in the middle of theater district. Can't beat it! My plan was to see at least one play and do some site seeing. I truly loved my trip, I was able to see two plays (getting the tickets 1/2 price at the ticket both accross the street from the hotel). There is great food everywhere and I took the subways everywhere as well. I never needed to even take a cab. You can't beat the location of this hotel and the decor was mod and cute as well. The only thing I would do different next time, is to spend more time there! This was the fastest 4 nights, I guess I will just have to go back. Had a great time! The lobby retains its Philippe Starck touches and is very trendy with interesting furniture, a striking staircase and contemporary music. The restaurant is expensive and not entirely cooperative (apparently no provision to send left-overs away). Be sure to get a larger room as the smaller ones are nearly impossible for anyone but a super thin supermodel! Score 5 out of 5 Good Location Jesse, Austin, TX, 2007-02-21 Many shows are a short walk from this hotel. My wife and I chose The Paramount Hotel because this was our first trip to New York and we wanted to be centrally located. The hotel is half a block from Times Square and we were able to fairly easily visit sites north and south of there. The room was a little bit small but comfortable. We were very satisfied with The Paramount Hotel. We would recommend it to our family and friends. Score 1 out of 5 My review of Paramount Maria, Los Angeles, CA, 2007-02-18 Near 42nd street.Upon arrival to hotel I was informed brusquely that the hotel would place a hold on my credit card for incidentals for $400.00.I informed managemtn that I would not use thier bar and gave them back the key immediatly prior to check in. This is unheard of in any state I have ever visited or European country. The decor in the room resembled early Gulag Archipelego with a matress on the floor,a fallen painting and no amenities except for a liqour cabinet. The desk light had a frayed wire and was short circuiting. The thermostat was off and impossible to reset without an MBA. I would never recommend this hotel! Score 5 out of 5 Great staff! Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2007-02-14 Take advantage of all the great restaurants and shop (or a show) just a block away at Times Square! The room was very tiny for a double, but that is really not a problem if you spend most of your time out in the city. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby is full of energy and always playing great music, and the two bars are cozy and fun. The hotel is in an amazing location- one block from Times Square and Restaurant Row! I would definitely recommend this hotel, if you don't mind a small room. |
