The room was cramped: e.g. couldn't completely open the closet dorr which was blocaked by the queen size bed being in the way. There was no restaurant in the hotel but many close by. The hotel is just off time square in the theater district which makes it very attractive at a conservative price. The concierge is excellent. Score 1 out of 5 Not Worth the money Anonymous, 2007-03-13 The hotel is located in Times SquareThe hotel's location was perfect and I really expected something totally different. The hotel room was some what clean. However, the carpet looked dirty, the bathroom sink never stopped dripping, the room was extemely hot and I was afraid to sleep in the bed and rest my feet on the floor because I thought that rodents lived there at the hotel. My room was located on the 26th floor and the elevators was excesively slow. For the amount of money I paid I would have rather stayed near airport for $200 less thsn what I paid. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Score 2 out of 5 Watch your valuables Charles, Pittsburgh, PA, 2007-03-13 I left the hotel for the Convention Center and realized I had forgotten my digital camera on my bed. When I returned that evening, the camera was gone. The house detective was very nice and prompt in responding to my complaint. I filled out an incident report, but it really did no good. The elevators were very slow and only 2 of the 4 going higher than the 15th floor were operating. Score 2 out of 5 do not stay here daniel, Detroit, MI, 2007-03-12 The check in was great, we were able to get our room early. The room was very small we had to close the bathroom door to exit. two people could not pass the bed at the same time. there were two electrical outlets which were being used buy the lamp and the clock. Called down for an extension cord. Behind the bead were paint chipping from the wall The hotel is old and run down.needs a face lift on the rooms. When we were ready to check out the autocheck out did not work. we ask the hotel to call the shcuttle ,and we met with we do not use thenm, we use so and so and they were two dollars more a person. the women was sotty and we felt like we were bothering her. That was her job. so she finally gave me the number for the shuttle and made me call it from my cell phone. Score 5 out of 5 comfortable brenda, Milwaukee, WI, 2007-03-12 Of course, everywhere you go, there is shopping. Not to worry, even chic SoHo was a subway ride away. The subway was about a 1/2 block away!I was pleasantly surprized at the friendliness and comfortability at the Milford Plaza in New York City. We arrived early (about 11am) and were quickly accomodated with a nice clean room, no need to wait for anything. What a great thing when all we wanted to do was unload our luggage, and get out to sight see! The room was small, but nothing that I wasn't expecting. Plenty for just my husband and I. Everything was right at our fingertips. Maybe a minutes walk to Broadway, and across the street from any ethnic food you could ever want. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location Anonymous, Green Bay, WI, 2007-03-11 Short walk to Broadway district and Times Square. Near plenty of restaurants and nightlife. The hotel was in a great location and not a bad deal for the money. The rooms and bathrooms were very small and old. For the price and location not a bad hotel. Score 4 out of 5 great location linda, New York, NY, 2007-03-08 Right in Times SquareThe Milford Plaza is in a great location, right in the theater district. Good value (for NYC) The room was extremely small and had a brick wall for a view. But it was clean and o.k. for a night's sleep. The rooms really need to be updated. Not a bad price for New York. Can't comment on the restaurant in the hotel, we never ate there. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Milford Plaza Hotel Anonymous, 2007-03-07 There are a lot of restaurants, theaters, and stores within a couple blocks of the hotel. The Milford Plaza Hotel was very affordable and is located in a convenient area which is in walking distance to Times Square. However, I was disappointed by the room because it was very cold. The heater was not working well and the windows were not sealed properly to avoid cold air from entering into the room. Maintenance was slow to arrive but finally did so after several phone calls. The water temperature in the shower was also very unsteady and kept on fluctuating between very hot and very cold. Score 4 out of 5 great theater location Deborah, Hartford, CT, 2007-03-04 Great location, easy walking distance from Port Authority, Times Square, and Broadway Shows! I would recomend this to my friends, with warnings... This was my first visit to New York, so I didn't know what to expect...Check in was fine, tho I was not directed to the elevators or enlightened as to where I might get a bite to eat. The room was clean and a comfortable size. The shower cuts off if the water gets too hot, which happened often. But I learned that one just shuts the water off for 30 seconds & tries again...that happened up to 3xs per shower. The first night was very noisy with doors slamming and people gathering outside my door well into the early morning...a call to security quieted things down for an hour at a time...but it was a broken night of sleep..But the following three nights were fine. There was NO COFFEE MAKER in the room....a great disappointment to me...but the hotel cleaning staff was wonderful, and very honest..I left my electronic equipment out (including little ipods) with no problem. |
