Great Location

Close enough to Times Square to walk without all the associated crowds and noise.

For a NYC hotel, the Flathotel was a great stay. The microwave and mini frig make it very family friendly. Of course, we specifically chose this type of hotel because we prefer the smaller boutique hotel to the mega chains that look the same in every city. My only suggestion would be to have the concierge available earlier in the day. He didn't arrive until 11 am and we were typically already gone by then.

MOMA, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, 5th Avenue shopping all within a to minute walk - nothing wrong with that!

Pristine room, well laid out, great lounge area and as centric as it gets in the city. Off the main drags enough that honks don't wake you up in the morning, and half the city is within walking distance. Several places to eat nearby and great service. Loved it!

Very close to Time Square and 5th Avenue.

This hotel has a great location, especially for the price. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It rained one day during our visit and my wife forgot her umbrella. She asked the front desk where she could purchase one and they gave her one of the hotel umbrellas to borrow. A+++ on the service!

Broadway shows, dining, Times Square.

This hotel was very nice for the most part, the only flaw was a non-working jacuzzi. It wasn't hyped with a jacuzzi, so can't heavily hold that against them, however, if it's there why not get it working. Otherwise, very nice, clean, respectful, food was great. Nicely located next to broadway shows.

Everything is close by because you are almost in the heart of Times Square. Just tell the cab you're at 52nd between 6th and 7th and you're home. Many dining choses within walking distance along with the famous 5th Avenue.

We enjoyed our stay at the Flatotel immensly. The only issue we did have was getting back to the hotel on Friday night at 11:45 and wanting a night cap at the bar. With a full bar, the bartender informed us she stopped serving at 11:45. Therefore we went to another nearby bar but it would've been nice to enjoy our hotel and go up to the room just after the night cap. The bell hop was very quick in getting out luggage upon check out. So fast in fact that I didn't have everything ready to go because I thought I'd have to allow at least 20 minutes for the pick up. Recommend to others!

Many interesting must do experiences of New York within walking distance ie. Central Park, Broadway, 5th Ave shopping, Times Square. A fun 50's diner the kids can enjoy, where waitress' and waiters entertain, is Ellen's Stardust Diner.

Flatotel was in a great location for walking to Broadway and 5th Ave. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

Recommend Grayline double decker tours. We rode Staten Island Ferry to view the Statue of Liberty. It leaves every hour on the hour and is free. Round trip takes an hour. Sit on the right side of ferry to see Statue. Fluffy's Cafe near Radio City has great (cheap) breakfast specials.

Flatotel was in close proximitiy to Rockefeller Center, shopping, Broadway shows, Times Square, Radio city, etc! We stayed in a room with a king size bed, mini-fridge and microwave. After reading many hotel reviews about the tiny rooms in NY city, I was surprised how large these rooms were. Room was also equipped with a desk, chaise, 4 large drawers, closet and safe. Bed had feather topper and was extrememly comfortable. We arrived at 11am checked in right away! Very satisifed with stay overall. You do have to pay for use of the fitness center and pool (seems to be standard practice here). Also the lobby and restaurant are nicely decorated, but are small. The restaurant is in the back of the lobby with no view.

5th avenue shopping.

the room was very comfortable and large. The bathroom was exceptionally nice with a large tub and spacious vanity. The location is very good. Within walking distance to time square, central park and radio city music hall.

Service issues

The location was fine, and the room clean, but there were service issues. It took the bellman an hour and a half to get my bag to the room from storage after they told me I couldn't possibly get into the room any earlier than their check in time. Then on the day of our departure, someone actually knocked on our door in the morning, awakening us and asked us when we were going to leave, well before check out time. Generally unhelpful staff all around.
