Score 4 out of 5 It was a pleasure! Anonymous, 2007-03-13 You have the entire theater district and Times Square within a short walking distance which is great for tourists.During my first visit to Dream Hotel, when I first entered the room, it had that ethereal blue lighting which I absolutely loved. Everything looked immaculate - from the uniforms of the staff to the cleanliness of the room. My only major concern was a certain fish in the 2 floor fish tank which was missing an eye and swimming around lopsided.. Score 5 out of 5 Very chic and convenient Karen, Jacksonville, FL, 2007-02-17 MoMA and the American Folk Museum are only a few blocks away. Half a block to a major subway line.I chose Dream Hotel more for price and location but it turned out to have large rooms and gorgeous interiors with a Zen aesthetic--very relaxing. The staff was helpful, friendly and courteous. An amazing value for the money in NY. I would stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Sacramento, CA, 2006-09-25 Great HotelScore 5 out of 5 Great Times Square location Anonymous, 2006-09-04 Times Square about 6 blocks Central Park about 3 blocks Broadway shows >1 block Main office of double decker tour guides >1blockAlthough the room was a little smaller than we expected, it was clean and quite comfortable. It was walking distance from all must see locations (times square, central park, sightsee buses, museums, BROADWAY). The lounge on the roof-top provided great view of city at night. Nice comfortable furniture and great staff. Score 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Bend, OR, 2006-07-21 1st floor, window 6 feet from hotel's heating/ac unit. Bed was awful. I left my cell phone in the room. They were very helpful in sending it to my home. Score 4 out of 5 Modern and Sophisticated Anonymous, 2006-05-07 lots of little cafes and such to have breakfast are very close byDream has a blue theme running throughout the hotel. An awesome aqarium along with cool furniture make up the lobby. The outdoor Ava lounge is relaxing, but the waitress was a little snotty. The room was neat with a large flat screen TV, but I was surprised how small the room was. Overall, I liked Dream, but do not think it is truly worth the high prices. Score 2 out of 5 A strange dream Anonymous, 2006-04-03 Moma is two blocks away.the dream hotel has a great location for doing business, and the price was right for this area of Manhatten. After flying all night on Jet Blue, and toughing out the dreams 3pm check in, I ran in to my standard room, jumped in the shower, and jumped out, cold water, clogged shower head. Since I don't do the dribbling cold shower for any price, I called the front desk. At 3:45 they told me they could send a maintenance guy later. I had a meeting at the Bryant Park hotel at 5:00. I demanded another room, immediately, they gave me one, smaller but with hot water, and a funky phone service that did not always give you your messages. I was 15 minutes late to my meeting, and I want to give a special thank you to the bellhop who had to run down a block to get me a cab. Also the night front desk manager, who had his hands more than full. Broken elevators, beautiful penthouse bar, blue lights, employees trying hard to please with no direction, this is definetely not a hotel to stay in if your in town for business. It want's to be the standard hotel in LA, but misses by a mile. You have to have more than a choprak center, and blue lighting to pull this one off. On the plus side you are two blocks from Moma and many other attractions. Score 2 out of 5 Tiny Rooms Anonymous, 2006-02-04 Times Square and Broadway showsThe Dream Hotel has extremely tiny rooms. The lobby is impressive with a giant floor to ceiling fish tank but the elevator, and hallway, which are both tiny just lead to a tiny room. It doesn't even have a queen size bed, only a double. It was a let down. Score 5 out of 5 Great value in NYC Barbara, Orange County, CA, 2005-08-28 Right by Times Square and Central Park. 55th and Broadway.Dream was a tremendous value based on it's syling and location in NYC. Every inch felt like an Ian Schrager hotel. Dream is privately owned and operated - was lux. Would recommend to anyone. Rooftop bar -- amazing views, great cocktails and hip crowd. |
