Although there was no room service in the hotel, there were many nearby resturants to choose from. Score 5 out of 5 very professional and friendly! roxanne, San Antonio, TX, 2007-03-12 Tons of shopping just a walk away!Staff was excellent. The room was a little small but hey, it's NY! Perfect location for the Jacob Javitis convention center. I'm definitly coming back. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location, Pleasant Stay Anonymous, Pittsburgh, PA, 2007-03-11 The Tick Tock Diner is next door, with indoor access from the hotel. They serve a great breakfast for a reasonable price. Service is quick and friendly. The New Yorker is an older hotel in the process of updating. But for the price it was very satisfactory. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The bathroom was dated but very functional. The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Security was not a concern, since only key holders were permitted access to elevators. The location is hard to beat if Madison Square Garden is your destination. Score 4 out of 5 Average Anonymous, 2007-03-06 There was a diner right next to the hotel. Tons of pizza joints within blocks. The New Yorker Hotel was very average. It is a bit pricey for what is actually provided. The location, however, was very good. Score 4 out of 5 location, location Anonymous, 2007-03-04 Don't have a lot to add - we mostly wanted something central that would allow us to visit/walk about. An Irish pub was close by, Madison Square Garden and shopping. From the outside it is very dowdy - NO curb appeal. The room was clean, but small. The overall ambience of the hotel is very drab. There is no color - no art - very neutral. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is an excellent location and needs very much to be updated - which from the signs apparently is in the plan. Score 5 out of 5 great location; good restaurants in hotel Judith, 2007-03-04 Great Itamian restaurant with excellent services and reasonable prices adjacent to hotel lobby.Ramada Inn New Yorker was centrally located in Manhattan, close to arts districts and shopping. The beds were very comfortable. Double room was a bit small, but fine for a weekend stay. More outlets needed in bathroom! (this is the case with most hotels..). Excellent security in lobby. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Ramada New Yorker Hotel Anonymous, Dallas, TX, 2007-02-28 The Ramada Inn New Yorker is an older hotel beginning some rennovations. The floor on which I stayed, was in desperate need of rennovations. Although I am sure the hotel staff tries to keep it clean, there was musty odor, ragged carpets, walls in desperate need of paint and drafty windows. The room was clean and moderately comfortable. I will not select it again, until rennovations have been completed. The location is excellent, with wonderful subway access. Score 4 out of 5 Just ok Anonymous, 2007-02-27 Madison Square GardensThe Ramada Hotel New Yorker was not what I expected. When we first walked in the room, our first thoughts were 'Where's the rest of it?'. The smallest room ever. Paint was chipping off of the walls, the bed was flat, water dripped the whole night from inside the A/C. It seemed as if every floor was different, though. Some floors looked clean and bright, and some, like ours were dark and old. We only stayed for 3 nights, so we were fine for that time. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, 2007-02-25 It was easy to get anywhere in the city from here. Excellent staff! Score 5 out of 5 Great location Dennis, Milwaukee, WI, 2007-02-19 The deli's in town are fantastic. Reasonably priced, good food, and fast.If you are looking for a hotel in a prime location, this is it. Great subway access, 8th Ave has so much to see and do, stone-throw away from Madison Square Garden, Empire State Bldg. Rooms are not huge, but they are clean and safe! Who is spending much time in the hotel room anyways? You're in New York! |
