Good for the price

I was only in town for two nights for a career fair, so I didn't want an expensive hotel that I wasn't going to do anything but sleep in. This place was great, room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating, and the complimentary breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Small rooms but great location

Curry Row is only about four/five blocks North in walking distance between 1st and 2nd Ave. Plenty of organic, vegetarian restaurants abound... Cute lower east side neighborhood

The room was tiny but that is typical of New York Hotels. The room did not have a closet or an accessible full length mirror, there wasn't much 'walking space' at all. The room was comfortable for one- probably very intimate for two. The room and bathroom were both very clean and the bathroom was updated with all modern facilities (a lot of NYC hotels are not)- I'd recommend this hotel for people that need nice, clean amenities in a good location. Oh, another downside, in the hot summer heat, the lobby, hotel hallways and elevators were not air conditioned - making travel to and fro very balmy.

Disappointed in the room accomadations and cleanliness

convenience store and movie theather were next door.

The Howard Johnson hotel staff members were very courteous and helpful. The hotel room was small and didn't offer very many ammedities. I was really bothered by room conditions for the following reasons. The room including the bed, sheets and pillows were filled with smoke even though I requested a non smoking room. The bathroom shower tiles had mold in between the tiles and the cable TV service was very limited. Lastly, the location was not too great and I was happy to leave first thing in the morning.

More interesting-looking places than we could sample on a single visit.

This little hotel was a lucky find for us, considering that it was located in the SoHo area of Manhattan where things are overpriced as a matter of law. The staff were very friendly. The room was ... well ... small (tiny), and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Very comfortable bed. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Parking? Forget it! This is New York, thank you, and parking is three blocks down, and $40.00 a night. Oh, well, New York is a nice place to visit, etc., etc....
