Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Wonderful staff and accommodations! Thalia Affinia 50 was a wonderful choice for our New Year's Eve stay in NY. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Lots of mirrors and light in the bathroom for flawless holiday makeup application! 2 full length mirrors in the room to make sure everyone looked their best. The beds were very comfortable and room nice and quiet for optimum sleep. The Staff was very friendly and helpful, responding to every request or question we had with a smile! Can't wait for my next stay. Score 5 out of 5 Affinia 50 Anonymous Not too far from Bloomingdale's!This hotel is perfect for a short stay. The rooms are nice, but small. Score 5 out of 5 great spot Anonymous close to everytingnice suite... large bathroom comfy bed Score 5 out of 5 Excellent, felt like as if I were at home. jorge, Miami, FL Restaurant right up the block. The hotel was clean, comfortable, easily accessible, and the staff was fantastic. Score 5 out of 5 Good location, large room Anonymous, Sacramento, CA, 2007-03-12 Located in midtown, it was close enough to walk to the tourist attractions without encountering all the noise and traffic associated with hotels near Times Square/Broadway. It is located near subway stops, on a bus line, and with frequent taxi traffic. We had not problem getting where we were going. Lots of restaurants just around the corner. We have 4 women in our room - and everyone said it was the best NY hotel they had been in. Comfy beds, room for all our luggage, and even a pillow menu. Score 5 out of 5 Great for Families or Business donna, Key West, FL, 2007-02-13 If you need tickets to the theater there is a tkts at the south seaport which you can get to by subway. Mary Poppins was wonderful. Federicos Italian restaurant has a pre-theater menu. food was good and plentiful. everyone on the subway was most helpful for directions. Don't be afraid to ask someone, the New Yorkers were very nice.We surprised our daughters with their first trip to New York. While we were on a budget we wanted it to be special. The Affinia 50 made it just that. The staff was extremely helpful and personable. We got in early so they held our bags while we went walking about. The desk clerk was very helpful in getting us into our room a little early as we had tickets to the theater at 3:00. The doormen recommended the diner a half block away, it has good food and quick service. The Affinia is close to Rockefeller Center, Radio City, some shopping and Grand Central if you need to get the subway. The queen suite was great for 4 people. Beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was handy. comments about the small bathrooms are negligible. It really wasn't that small...how many people need to be in there at one time anyway? We really enjoyed our stay and will go back if we get the chance. Score 5 out of 5 for the play Anonymous, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2006-12-12 Market and McDonalds were a short distance as well as the Restuarant Houstons and Smith and WollenskyThe hotel staff was very nice the rooms were clean well lit and large. The staff assisted us with directions to the theatre as well as places to dine nearby. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location Anonymous, 2006-11-27 Very short walk to 5th Avenue.Loved the location of this hotel, its proximity to shopping, restaurants, etc. is fantastic. Extremely helpful and courtious staff. Score 4 out of 5 Good Location Jason, 2006-11-12 Shellys new york was a good place to eat. A little pricey but worth the moneyThe Affinia 50 was an awesome location. Although the issue with the hotel include fire alarm going off 1 hr into check in, Bathroom shower light malfunctioning, the view from the balcony was a view of the next building, and the tv wasnt working properly. The junior suite was a decent size room. The bed and pillow where comfortable and very clean. There is restaurants and banks in the area. Hotel staff was helpful for directions and catching cabs. Score 2 out of 5 good location Anonymous, 2006-10-30 We love Smith & Wollensky (we were there in Chicago) and to our surprise it was right across the street.Arriving at the hotel the staff was very friendly including the bellmen. The room was nicely decorated. The bathroom was small and very little room to put my things. We had to call the maintenance to fix our shower which they did. The one thing that was upsetting was that the room was so hot. Apparently, they shut off the air conditioning in Sept.and can only get heat in the rooms. They told me to open my windows but the vents to the hotel were right outside my window and it was so noisy we couldn't leave them open. There was no relief from the heat all day and night. The weather outside was in the high 60's and the temperature in the room felt like 80. |
