THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND WARM FOR WINTER. THE BEDS NEED NEW MATTRESS'S, KIND OF SQUISHY AND YOU FALL IN THE MIDDLE. THE RESTAURANT/BAR WAS VERY INVITING AND ENTERTAINING.

Skytop is tops

For those who enjoy the music of the former The Band,Levon Helms holds his "Rambles" from his home nearby.

The Skytop Motel was comfortable; and near to our final concert destination. Staff members were amenable; and there is a great restaurant onsite, offering good food and entertainment -- a definite plus in the woods. It certainly provided far more than I expected.

Close to Thruway

Bring your own bottled water! The trip back and forth to Rhinebeck is easy, but it costs a $1 toll on the bridge.

While the Sky Top Motel is very close to Exit 19 on the NYS Thruway, it left quite a bit to be desired. The room was adequately sized (king size bed) but the bathroom was very small and the floor was not as clean as it could have been. Also, the towel bar fell off repeatedly (reported same to management). The biggest problem was the water -- it was so reeking fo sulfur it was difficult to use it even for brushing teeth! The "Continental breakfast" provided was packaged pastries (yuck), or boxed cereal, orange juice, and coffee with only a pitcher of milk provided -- no indication of whether it was full fat, skim, or what. No half and half. And no decaf, which is a necessity for my husband! We were promised decaf for Sunday, but it did not appear. In addition, the manager made a pot of regular coffee in the decaf carafe -- we were able to warn another person not to believe the orange handle before she got the wrong brew. We did not try the adjacent restaurant as we had other plans made beforehand.

Reasonable value, reasonable quality. Good staff, close to major routes and attractions. We had a nice view. Upper-medium quality steak house next door.

it's very easy to get on and off the thru-way

I was very impressed with decor of the room. The furniture was tasteful and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and efficient, the a/c worked well and the t.v. was clear. There could have been brighter lighting. THe proximity to the thru-way was very convenient.We enjoyed our stay there very much.

close to the highway...less than 1/2 mile

The walls had holes, patched buy not painted, the door had been busted open, as new hinges had been added but the door was still bent at the bottom! The rug was so old and dirty that I would not walk in bare feet. The bed was a new mattress as the old ones where in a pile not far from my door! The bath room, well let me say that housekeeping needs some new glasses, cause I what consider clean is not what they consider clean. Old soap was still in the dish by the sink!

This motel apparently was recently refurbished and re-opened. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was very nice and convenient.

The restaurant next door serves delicious steaks in a lovely venue with sweeping views.

At Skytop Motel the price was good, the room was large and the restaurant was excellent. There are, however, a few things that need to be improved. There was no central heating operating so a reverse cycle unit had to be used, the wireless internet service was unavailable and my shower in the morning and evening was tepid. Once these matters are rectified Skytop would be a great value motel, having been recently renovated and situated with a skytop view of the countryside.
