Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 A little scary Tammy We stayed at the Days Inn in Brooklyn because we were looking for a more inexpensive place to stay when we take our daughter to college. The area, however, was a little scary as was the hotel. The parking lot had about 6 spaces, very hard to move around in. The lobby is tiny, not very clean and the people working there are behind what looked to be bullet proof glass. Our room was also tiny, barely big enough for the furniture. When we arrived there, the phone machine had messages on it, very strange ones sounding like they were code for something else. I think next time it will be worth staying at the fancy expensive hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Great value in NYC Belinda, Hendersonville, NC, 2006-11-01 The Donut Shop. Right up the street, on the corner. Fast food in form of McDonalds and Burger King- Right down the street. The Days Inn-Brooklyn was clean and comfortable, and what a Great price for a place in New York City. Yes, the rooms were small, its New York. And yes you can hear the subway going by. Again, its New York. We weren't there to stay in a room. There's a little diner right down the street for an inexpensive breakfast and it was a very clean part of town. We walked to Sunset Park, you can view Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from there. We rented three rooms for family members attending a wedding. Everyone was pleased with rooms.. and the price. Less than every other place I could find in New York. I'll remember this place...and stay there again. Oh yeah, it's close to the train station, too. An easy trip to Manhattan. Score 5 out of 5 nice hotel roger, 2006-04-23 The room was small but cozy, just enough room for 1 person. There are a few restaurants all around the hotel which is good. The cleaning staff came in the late afternoon (between 4-5) which was also good for me. Score 4 out of 5 Good Location Anonymous, 2005-09-06 Very close to Park Slope dining and shopping.Good location but parking difficultas there were only 6 spaces. Carpets sorely need replacement. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Days Inn Brooklyn Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2005-06-14 The hotel is very small and has a strange odor which permeates all of one's belongings. The odor may be the result of cigarette smoke residue and smoke is always floating through the hallways. Although I asked for a non-smoking room, it was evident upon arrival that option is an impossibility and there appear to be no rooms where smokers haven't been. The rooms were not vaccuumed during each cleaning and the carpets are not as clean as I'd like. The subway trains (which run ALL day & night)travel on a curve behind the hotel (about 75 feet) and the ear drum busting high pitch squeal of the wheels on the track are impossible to get used to. So leaving your windows open for the MUCH NEEDED fresh air comes at a high price! Outside of the hotel being a last minute option where NO others are available, I would not stay again or recommend it to others. It seems to be more like the neighborhood drop-in motel. |
