Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 About What You Would Expect Anonymous, 2006-09-04 The Mackenzie Grill is very popular and there can be long lines on the weekends. Go early! The Best Western Mountain Lake Inn provides adequate accomodations at a reasonable price. Lake Placid is a very short drive away and our room here was almost half the price of a room in Lake Placid. Our room was clean and well maintained. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. The restaurant on the premises, The Mackenzie Grill, serves an excellent breakfast and is also open for lunch. It is not open for dinner. The hotel does not have an elevator. The hotel is across the highway from Lake Flower and a very small arm of the lake extends under the highway to the area near the hotel. The hotel provides wireless internet access, but there is no computer available for those who do not bring a laptop. All in all, it was good enough but not great. Score 4 out of 5 Very family friendly loretta, Buffalo, NY, 2005-11-06 Any kind of outdoor recreation you can think of.The Best Western Saranac Lake, NY was a bit of a disappointment. I found the bed most uncomfortable. Neither my husband nor I had a good nights sleep. I feel this should be one of the most important features when staying at a hotel. I also felt that for the money I spent,I did not get a good value. The following nights we stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid and had a wonderful bed as well as many more amenities. I felt that was a much better value for our money. Score 4 out of 5 Good location Kim, Harrisburg, PA, 2005-09-26 Lake placid and all other Olympic venues are less than 10 minutes awayThe Hotel was very clean and neat and provided us with all the necessities we needed and was also in a prime location for accessibility to the areas we wanted to go to. However drawbacks were they had no hot tub in the pool area and the restaurant with the hotel was only open for breakfast and lunch--no dinner. Other than that is was a good place to stay Score 5 out of 5 Convenient to Lake Placid Anonymous, Manchester, NH, 2005-09-11 It's just a short drive from the hotel to the Saranac Lake airport, as well as all of the Olympic attractions in Lake Placid. The Best Western Mountain Lake Inn in Saranac Lake is a great alternative to the hotels in the Lake Placid area. It's conveniently located about 10 minutes from downtown Lake Placid, and it's more reasonably priced than the lodgings in the downtown Lake Placid area. It also doesn't have a two-night minimum like a lot of the hotels in Lake Placid do during the busy tourist seasons. |
