Score 5 out of 5 Great place for a vacation Lois, Philadelphia, PA, 2007-03-13 1. Go skiing at the Lake Tahoe ski areas. It is only 40 miles to great skiing! 2. With record high temperatures in Reno we spent a lovely day walking along the riverwalk in downtown Reno. The Truckee river is beautiful we even watched kayaks on the river. 3. There is a wonderful Italian restaurant across the streetThe Peppermill Hotel Casino was very comfortable. There were 2 chairs, a table, and a sofa in the large room. We have stayed at other casinos in Reno and this one is one of the best. They have a 55 plus program that provided a discount on food during the week. The variety of dining options in the 5 different areas was very good. We enjoyed the breakfast specials available early in the morningin the coffee shop before we went skiing at Lake Tahoe. We toke in a great play at the Bruka theater biked, ate and visited the Auto museum all downtown. The Peppermill was a great property. After a minor glitch at checkin, all the other services and personnel were outstanding. The coffee shop restaurant was very good. The valet parking and desk staff were terrific. We didn't gamble but the people in the casino seemed really helpful and nice. New construction was taking place but with the exception of the pool deck closure you would not know there was a $300 million addition taking place. Location and access to rental car and airport was great. We Skied, visited the Auto museum and biked the intown bike trail along the Truckee river. We ate at a variety of restaurants and were very pleased with service and quality of food. we would highly recommend this property. Score 2 out of 5 needs improvement Anonymous, Burlington, VT, 2007-03-05 The walgreens was in walking distance. The Peppermill in Reno was not as exciting as the colors which always peaked our interest. The airport shuttle is for the driver not the need of the customer, also be aware they want a tip every time you ride and monitor were you are going. The slots were very slow to give you a kickback and the smoking was overwelming .Beware if you are delayed on your flight the shuttle will not help you ,even if you call the hotel . Score 5 out of 5 outstanding resort bruce, Greenville, SC, 2007-03-03 The coffee shop is great the Island buffet is all anyone could ask for and the steak house is as gfood as any we have tried. The airport is just down the road and the hotel is very near downtown and the main highways. Our stay was a great experience and the people at this hotel are a cut above the other resort we have visited. The restaurants are outstanding places to eat and the wait staff are very good to guest. We look foward to another visit soon. Score 2 out of 5 Still renovating Anonymous, Seattle, WA, 2007-02-28 The room was clean and the staff was curteous. The decor is very 70's - lots of purple, neon lights and mirrors, not at all what I expected after reading that they had renovated. Construction is still going on and the crew woke us every morning before 7:00am. The casino is very difficult to navigate using too many low mirrored ceilings and walls. The lighting was dark and neon - very hard on the eyes. It certainly is not centrally located - I expected to be able to walk to other casino's like in Vegas. Cabs are the only option to downtown. Score 5 out of 5 Everything you ever wanted in one place Lori, Seattle, WA, 2007-02-26 We loved the sunday brunch in the Island Buffet. The coffee shop has a wonderful extensive menu that could satisfy anyone at a reasonable price. You can find any type of dining experience from cafeteria to fine dining with linens and flowers in the Peppermill. This was my second stay at the Peppermill, but the two people who traveled with me had not been to Reno before. They were very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire establishment, the variety of food options and the overall attitude of the staff. We all felt very safe and taken care of when we were at the hotel. The room was good sized and we did not feel crowded. The big screen TV was awsome, even though we did not spend a lot of time watching it. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful, giving us extra towels when we asked. The entire experience was possitive and I look forward to returning and I think they will too. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2007-02-25 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 under construction steve, 2007-02-23 The Peppermill hotel was a disaster...the pool isn't open, the hotel has a tremendous amount of construction on premisis. My room although big and wonderful was outside of the hotel in a ''motel'' like building. The front desk wouldn't change my room after I told them I couldn't climb 7 steps to the 1st floor elevator. I had to walk from my motel room thru construction, snow field and a parking lot in order to enter the casino or dining areas and by the time I got to the front desk I was puffing for air and exhausted. I didn't like the fact that after realizing my room wasn't handicapped friendly and calling the front desk to relocate the desk told me the room had a 1st floor elevator...and it did 7 steps up from the ground. Lazy and uninformed front desk employees. |
