Very Convenient

There's a great little mall just around the corner where you can purchase all your gifts easily and inexpensively.

The best part of the hotel is the easy check in and check out procedures. No more standing in line! . Also, a coffee maker would have been very much appreciated. Everything else was super.

A Great Piece of Vegas History

Patricia, Detroit, MI, 2007-03-14

Get a trip pass that suits & use the monorail to travel the strip back & forth, it saves a lot of walking.

Our stay was very pleasant and well worth what it cost. The Sahara's main strength is that it is not too big & too expensive or expansive for the average hotel guest. It is in a perfect 'niche' in comparison to the bigger is better mantra sweeping other Vegas hotels & resorts. They need to better market this, in conjunction with emphasizing their illustrious history more, and they can remain profitable & not have to 'blow themselves up' to build yet another 'monster'

enjoyable stay

The monorail stops here which made it easier to get around. But be prepared for lots of walking.

Room was quiet, clean, beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. Slept very well. Only concern was the $12 charge when we checked in.

Sahara hotel

Anonymous, 2007-03-08

The walk to more central Strip locations has become longer with the increased construction.

The hotel at the Sahara was an overall pleasant experience of old Las Vegas. The hotel was a good value for the time of year. Only complaint is that the location left a bit to be desired with the increased construction at the north end of the strip.

This hotel needs work

Bernard, Newark, NJ, 2007-03-06

I stayed in the Alexandria Tower. The view from the room was very nice, but there ends the positives. Ripped cutians, stained carpets left much to be desired. Desk for work was very small, there was barely enough room for my laptop.

Great for first timers

Take the deuce bus!

Since it was our first time in Vegas, the Sahara Hotel and Casino was great for my wife and I. For the price that we paid, I think we got our money's worth. This hotel has a lot of history. But be warned, stay away from the cashier at the buffet, I think another hotel pays her to give you an attitude!

You get what you pay for

Patricia, 2007-03-03

My stay at the Sahara would not have been so bad if the rooms would have been cleaner. We had a view of the city's lights, but it quickly lost it's excitement because of the filthy windows. The carpets were stained; when we first came into the room there was a funky smell! Eventually...I guess we just got used to it (we tried to cover it up with perfume); tiles on the shower wall were cracked and the grout between the tiles in some areas were black. I don't mind modest comforts, but I don't believe in giving up cleanliness.

Great Value For the Price

Anonymous, 2007-03-02

Conveniently located close to all the Nightlife and Entertainment in Vegas. What more is there to say.

My wife and I stayed at the Sahara for a couple of days in Feb. The hotel was right on the strip and while it was nothing fancy for the price that we paid it was fantastic. Would definitely stay there again.

Poor Customer Service

Denny, 2007-02-25

About half a mile from the Convention Center and one mile from the big shows at Caesar's, Paris, New York, etc.

The Sahara was a fairly good value for the dollar. However, there were some problems. The bathroom sink was stopped up; I complained but the customer service was very poor. The heat in the room could not be adjusted; as a result, we were very warm most of the time. I complained, but I was told that nothing could be done about it. The building was old and had not been renovated in quite some time. There were light bulbs out in the room; they did replace these within minutes when they were informed. The shows at the Sahara were great. Overall, good value, but not good customer service.
