Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Where's the elevator? allen, 2007-03-14 The Freemont Experience on Freemont street is something that you have to see if you are downtown. On arriving at the El Cortez and parking on the second level, I took the elevator to the lobby to check in. While waiting in line to check in, I heard at least four couples saying that their electronic room keys are not letting them in (one person said that he had been down for the fifth time). After I had checked in and returned to the elevator that I had come from, I returned to the car to get my luggage. With luggage in tow, I went looking for my room. Back in the lobby and looking for the elevator or a sign for the elevator, I stopped a cocktail server and then Security for help. One part of the hotel rooms has a staircase with four digit numbers and another part has an elevator and room numbers with three digit numbers. I had no problems with my electronic key at any time during my stay. The room was very spacious and well maintained. Being downtown and hotel construction work around the clock, it was somewhat noisey at night. It was only a short walk to one of the oldest hotels in Vegas and the light show in that area was great. Score 1 out of 5 Horrible business amenities Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2007-03-12 Fremont street experience is two blocks away. I would not recommend walking by oneself as this part of town is shady. The room was right over the casino. We had to wear earplugs in order to sleep since they announced something over the intercom regularly. There were not any electrical plugs available in the room. I had to dig out one with an extension cord behind the bed so I could use my laptop. There was no room to put toiletries in the bathroom. I had nowhere to sit other than on the bed to use my laptop. We would not stay here again unless the room was upgraded and we stayed another floor away from the casino or in the towers. Score 1 out of 5 dirty, and unsafe David, 2007-03-08 there is none run run runThe hotel was not clean. you could see outside by around the door. the people were not friendly and unprofessional. I have to seek other arrangements. The bathroom in the room was no bigger than a closet. you had to turn on the shower through one door than close it and get into it by the back . It was smelly and I slept on top of the bed spread. I couldn't get out fast enough. The only thing it was good for was getting out of the elimates. I would never stay there again and never recommend it to anyone. Bad Business!!! So I was out the cost. But well worth the safety and peace of mind. The personnel was very friendly and we were impressed by the cleanliness. The only drawback was the lack of a coffemaker in the room. We had to buy one (because we like a cup of java first hour in the morning) |
