Needs some work!

The Horizon Hotel in South Lake Tahoe has some work to do. While the checkin process was pretty fast the room was a total disappointment. The room was not clean. Dirty carpet, fast food under the bed, a broken closet door, a very noisey heater, erratic television sound and sub par towels. We were located in the tower furthest from the main hotel. The hallways had a foul oder, the jacuzzi was dirty with a film of scum. While somewhat close to the Heavenly gondola to the mountain it had no other positive qualities. For what we paid for the room (which was after new years and was mostly empty) we did NOT get our money's worth. I will never again stay at the Horizon Hotel. Oh, and the hotel's restaurants were not pretty bad as well.

Bring you warm jammies

The location was great for the wedding we attended. We only stayed over night so we didn't check out the amenities. The room was sooo cold--we didn't sleep well. We should have called so they could fix it but we didn't. The room service was very slow. I thought the hotel was very expensive but I guess you pay for location.

If you are there during NFR week go to Gilleys at the Frontier hotel for dancing!

It was a great place for my girlfriend and I to stay. We were in the middle of everything and could walk most places if we wanted. It was NFR week and lots of cowboy types and very helpful hotel staff. It was my first time to Vegas and for the price it was a perfect hotel.

Try the food at Harrah.

The room is quite big and clean. Close to shopping area and dining places.
