The La Quinta-Las Vegas Tropicana is just minutes from McCarran International Airport and only a half-mile from all of the dining and entertainment venues and casinos on the exciting Las Vegas Strip! From here, it's only a short drive to the Las Vegas Speedway, beautiful Lake Mead, and excellent skiing at Mt. Charleston. Stay here for events at the Las Vegas and Sands Convention Centers, Sam Boyd Stadium, Thomas and Mack Center, and Cox Pavilion.
Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Value for money Alan, Miami, FL This hotel does offer good value for money, especially during convention time. The room is adequate and the staff are extremely helpful. All of the staff went out of their way to make us welcome. The carpet in the room and in the public areas is very dirty. It is vacuumed, but needs shampooing and you need to wear shoes in the room at all times. Normally, La Quinta hotels are extrtemely good, but this one needs a little upkeep. One needs to have a car, as the strip is a couple of miles away, but the price of the hotel plus car is about equal to the cost of a room on the strip. Score 5 out of 5 Convenient Location - Did the Job Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2006-10-22 Quick access to I-15 so the whole strip is just minutes away.Friendly staff, great location... (But a little bit of a "seedy" neighborhood). But clean room and great beds. Delightful continental breakfasts provided - especially the belgian waffle machines, hard boiled eggs and better than average coffee. A very good value considering what they are charging in the major hotels! Score 5 out of 5 Very nice non-casino hotel Elizabeth, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-10-15 the city bus is easier than walking to the "strip", although it is only 3 long blocks. The traffic is heavy at most times.the room was very comfortable, clean. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in time---coffee was brought to us in the lobby, and our luggage was stored for us so we could venture out to explore the area while we waited for our room. The free breakfast was very ample and the "kitchen" lady was very helpful. The city bus ran right past the hotel. We took the bus to the "Strip" (24 hr. pass with unlimited use was only $2.50.) I would recommend this hotel, if one does not want to stay in a casino/hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Easy Access Anonymous, 2006-10-07 There's an adult super-store next to the hotel. Fun!Easy access to the Strip and to the airport. Hotal staff was very accomodating with special requests. Score 4 out of 5 Nice for Money Vicki, 2006-09-16 For the money it is quite sufficient. Anonymous, 2005-09-25 close to all the fun stuff!.room was really large and confortable and everything else was great!. Score 2 out of 5 Overall Poor Satisfaction Anonymous, Charlotte, NC, 2005-06-27 The check-in was very poor in that I had arranged for a late check-in and had to wait outside of a locked entrance for more than 15 minutes before the front desk person let me in. Initially, my key did not work and had to be reprogramed. Breakfast was very limited in selection of cereals and fruits. Water temperature was totally uncontrolable and I nearly burnt myself once and had a very cold shower mid-way through another time. The both towels are very small and it took two to dry off, which for me typically takes less than one. The one positive thing was the cleanliness of the facility. |
