Newly renovated deluxe hotel/casino, the Sands boasts the largest standard rooms in Reno. A fun multi-color decor is the perfect accent for the floor-to-ceiling windows. Great value property. Must be 21 years of age to check into hotel.
Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Poorly maintained Tom, Anchorage, AK, 2007-03-10 The Sands Regency may have been a nice hotel at one time but maintenance has not kept pace with wear and tear. There were many guest and I got the impression that profit taking was more important than maintenance. In the tower that I stayed, only two of three elevators operated. Wall covering was peeling in my room. The bath water valve was about as cheap as you can find and was sticky. The lobby was jammed with gambling devices and was very noisy. The desk clerks were not courteous and dressed like they worked in a cheap motel. Dining facilities in the hotel was limited to three fast food restaurants. I won't stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND FUN! Carolyn, 2007-03-08 EVERYTHING WENT GREAT! PEOPLE THAT WORKED THERE WERE ALL HELPFUL. EVEN THO WE CAME HOME WITH NO MONEY WE WOULD AND WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. IT IS RIGHT NEAR MANY THINGS YOU CAN WALK TO AND A BUS THAT WILL TAKE YOU ALL AROUND TOWN. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SEEING THE MAY ARBORETUM! Score 5 out of 5 Good value Anonymous, Hartford, CT, 2007-03-07 Diner attached to hotelGood value for the amount of money spent. Score 4 out of 5 very friendy people John, Chicago, IL, 2007-03-05 nightclubsThe Sands was adequate place to stay, was close to other places and most of the hotel was good enough. The high point of the whole place was the people that worked the 2nd and 3rd shift in the table game area, very outgoing and very helpfull in anything we asked. Score 5 out of 5 THE SANDS robert, 2007-03-04 THIS HOTEL WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND AFFORDABLE. IT WAS CLOSE TO THE STRIP AND THE WALK WAS VERY NICE. THE RESTUARANTS ARE CLOSE BY AS ARE THE LOCAL STORES. THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND WERE READY TO ACCOMIDATE Score 2 out of 5 you get what you pay for Anonymous, 2007-02-28 The Sands was bare bones minimum. Poor dining choices. Sparse room with stains on bedspread and rug. Terrible bed. Score 3 out of 5 Friendly James, Anchorage, AK, 2007-02-27 It was a short walk to down town and all the other casino's.Very clean room,The room was very comfortable But an older bathroom. When I left the room they were right ther to clean it. Score 5 out of 5 Sands. CAROLINA, San Jose, CA, 2007-02-23 It was a very short 5 minute walk to the nearby hotels with activities for the kids.Sands was a great experience. The rooms are spacious. The dining was good,I'd recommend to try them all as we did.. we tried the steak buffett, oh my yummy, Mel's Diner and the cafe down stairs. Coffee and Pizza was great and was open very early. They have Bingo every 2 hours. Since we had the kids with us the only thing I'd would like to see is a childs area with some games/arcade and a chain or bolt locks on the door so they cannot open it so easily. I'd stay there again. Score 4 out of 5 Average value for average price Andrew, Phoenix, AZ, 2007-02-16 Easy walk to ajacent casinos. The Sands room cleanliness was good. The whole hotel reeks of the smell of smoke. The hotel is in need of a makeover. Stayed there about 10yrs ago and it has not changed a bit. Downtown Reno is a bit of a tough neigborhood. One needs to keep vehicles locked at all times, as I had a ski jacket stolen from my unlocked vehicle. Still, for the price, it was ok. Easy walk to 5-6 other casinos in the area. It was an easy drive to Lake Tahoe ski areas which was our objective. For a boys trip it was fine, a trip with family might require an upgrade. Score 5 out of 5 Comfortable and roomy Anonymous, 2007-02-16 A large variety o other great places to eat within walking distance.Comfortable and roomy accomodations, good variety of places to eat, both in the hotel and within a close walk. I work construction and found the location convenient. Upper floors are quiet which I appreciate since I get up at 3:00 am to go to work. Very good accomodations for a bargin price. |
