Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Not a great hotel Jennifer, 2006-07-23 The Harrahs hotel is right across the street, and it has a buffet inside called Carvings, that features Mexican, American, Asian, Seafood, and Italian food, as well as fine meats and a ton of desserts. It's one of the best buffets I've ever been to.The elevators were the slowest I have ever seen in my life, and they would often open and close on the same floor numerous times before going up or down. The air conditioner was broken and it was sweltering in the casino on the 2nd floor and in the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, we had some friends from another hotel join us for dinner at 8:00PM at the Molly's cafe in the hotel. We waited 10 minutes to be sat, and then waited 30 minutes at the table before flagging someone down to please help us. The waitress we flagged down after sitting at the table for half an hour, rudely said well, this is my section, but I'm supposed to be getting off work and someone else is supposed to pick you up and then we could see three different people in the kitchen fighting over who would take our table. It was so hot in the restaurant we started to feel sick. When someone finally did pick us up, he took our order, and we waited another 40 minutes for our food, which was horrible. Half the order was way undercooked, and the other half was burnt to a crisp. Only two entrees were somewhat ok, so the manager took everything except two entrees off our order. We left the restaurant right after that, which was at 10:00PM. We were there for two hours and only two people in our party of 7 actually ate! Also, many of the slot machines we tried to play were malfunctioning, and not accepting the proper coins. For example, we would sit at a quarter machine, and put a quarter in the coin slot, but it would keep getting spit out, or we'd push the bet one credit button, and the machine would bet the maximum credits possible. I will definately not be visiting that hotel again. Score 2 out of 5 slowest elevators in the world KENNETH, Seattle, WA, 2006-07-06 ALL DOWNTOWN CASINOS ARE WITHIN A SHORT WALK AND A NUMBER OF CASINOS ARE ACUALLY TIED TOGETHER WITH WALKWAYS SO YOU MOVE FROM ONE TO THE NEXT WITH EASE.THE VALET STAFF WAS THE BEST PART OF OUR VISIT. THE HOTEL BEING ONE OF THE OLDEST IN TOWN IS SOMEWHAT RUNDOWN. THE ELEVATORS TAKE FOREVER TO GO UP AND DOWN, THEY ARE A BIG JOKE. THE FASTEST WAY TO USE THEM IS IF THE DOOR OPENS GET ON AND TAKE A RIDE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO RIDE THEM TO THE TOP TO GO DOWN. ROOM MAINTENANCE SEEMS TO BE AN ONLY IF THEY HAVE TO SORT OF THING. THE BUFFET IS THE WORST ONE IN TOWN WE ATE THERE ONE TIME AND WERE DEFINETLY NOT IMPRESSED. THE LOCATION ON THE OTHER HAND IS EXCELLENT RIGHT AT THE ARCH AND EASY ACCESS TO ALL DOWNTOWN CASINOS AND ATTRACTIONS. WE WOULD NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN NOR WOULD WE RECOMMEND IT TO FAMILY, FRIENDS OR ENEMYS. James, Oakland, CA, 2006-07-03 If you go to this hotel make sure you ask for the area not next to the train tracks. The sound is bad and you feel the train is going through your room. The hotel is next to train tracks and the trains come at all hours of the day and night. I didn't get very much sleep as the trains would wake me up.. even at 2am in the morning on a Sunday. The hotel just said to ask for a room next time on the South side of the building..not too emphathetic! I will look for other hotels the next time in Reno. Bad experience!! We were within walking distance to most of the places we wanted to go to. The room was large, comfortable, and clean. It was a good experience and we would not hesitate to stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 My review of Fitzgerald Casino Hotel Anonymous, 2005-11-26 other casinos and diningThe hotel overall was great room was very nice except for a couple of things in the bathroom. We arrived about 4 hours before check-in time, they had a room available and allowed us to go ahead and check-in. Vallet parking dropping off was fine it took about 45 minutes for us to get our car brought down for us to leave. Lots of comps available in reno would be nice to know what was available here. Comps are big thing in reno. Would still stay there if in the future. Score 4 out of 5 difficult access Anonymous, Broken Hill, 2005-10-02 I had a hard time getting into parking garage with the race going on. I had to cary my luggage across the street to check in. The rooms were ok. No luck in the casino. The restaurant was good, reasonably priced. |
