I took the high road up (through the mountains) and the low road back (along the Rio Grande) and was back in Santa Fe before noon.My immediate impression wasn't great. I went to Santa Fe for a little "Me Time" and chose the Inn and Spa and Loretto specifically because I wanted to have spa treatments. I wouldn't recommend it for a really luxurious spa experience. You wait in the lobby until they call you back for your treatment - kind of like a doctor's office with good tea and soothing music. The actual treatment was good, but the overall experience was lacking. The room was great, it had a little sitting area and a very small balcony that I could use for morning coffee. The bathroom vanity area was separate from the bathing area. The vanity area was nice, the bathing area was not well lit and a little dated, but it's the bathroom - no biggie. The location is great! It is in the middle of everything, Loretto Chapel is next door, the plaza is two blocks away as is Canyon Road - you can walk everywhere once you get to the hotel. I didn't dine at the hotel - not because it didn't look great - it did. I just don't like to dine where I am staying, I wanted to get out. I would recommend both Santa Fe and this hotel, I had a lovely time.
