Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Very good location Anonymous, Denver, CO Shopping is very close and many good restaurants located within short walking distance. The Eldorado was nice. It is within walking distance to many good restaurants and very near the old town shopping square. It was disappointing upon check-in to find out the hot tub was not available. Having recently suffered the loss of our mother, my sisters and I were looking forward to getting away and relaxing and were looking forward to the use of the hot tub. But renovations were under way at that time. This was not noted at the time I booked the room. The staff was very cordial and accomodating. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Anonymous Resturant expensive. Find local within walking distance alternativesComfortable, good location, upper scale, expensive Score 4 out of 5 Close to the plaza Anonymous, Huntsville, AL, 2007-02-19 Great margaritas a few miles away at Maria'sThe room was very comfortable, but overpriced for the amenities included in the room. Score 5 out of 5 Upscale Establishment Anonymous, 2006-08-06 There are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. The Eldorado Hotel and Spa was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was comfortable and the bed was great. We were there on business so we didn't have time to check out the ammenities such as the spa or pool or work out center. There are many great restaurants within walking distance and the food establishments at the hotel were great too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only complaint we had was there was a bar nearby and the patrons of the bar made a lot of noise waking us up at 1:30 a.m. both nights (Friday and Saturday). We like to sleep with the window open. When we shut the window the noise was not as noticeable. Score 4 out of 5 Great room, but no pool available John, Denver, CO, 2006-04-02 Excellent shopping and dining within easy walking distance of the hotelThe El Dorado was a very nice facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was closed as was the hot tub. Score 5 out of 5 Location, quietness, cleanliness, exquisite dining. Susan, Fort Collins/Lovelan, CO, 2006-04-02 Succulent, well-prepared, upscale comfort food like rack of lamb and garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, roast chicken, Ahi in the dining room adjoining the piano bar at Vanessie's (?). Georgia O'Keefe Museum.Just steps away from the Plaza, the Eldorado is convenient to museums, restaurants (though it had some of the best food in town), and shopping. We kept our car in the garage, and enjoyed walking everywhere. Rooms were very clean and quiet; option of feather or foam for pillows was nice. More commercial than the traditional looking older hotels, it still had its charm with its blazing fire and live music. It will be even better when its swimming pool/gym are opened. Rates perhaps a little high since it didn't have the pool opened yet. Exquisite spa and dining. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location patricia, 2006-03-12 The Georgia O'Keefe Museum is aroung the corner from the hotel. The museum tour is a great experience. Don't miss Los Mayas restaurant. The restaurant is only 2 blocks from the hotel and the food and friendly atmosphere are wonderful. The Eldorado is centrally located in Santa Fe. Guests are within walking distance of the central plaza, art galleries, and excellent dining. The room is larger than most and well furnished. I especially liked the small living room. However, the bed was uncomfortably hard and the extra blanket had not been washed recently. The bathroom was clean but the toilet needed maintenance, the hot water in shower was variable and the bathroom did not have a heat lamp. When we arrived we found out that the hotel charges $16 per night for parking and that the fitness center and pool were closed. Score 5 out of 5 great location Anonymous, Richmond, VA, 2005-06-02 The Eldorado is almost perfectly located fight on the edge of the centeral walking districk in Old Santa Fe. Our room was large and well appointed. Staff was great and bost the breakfast restaurant and the (somewhat expensvice) fine dining dinner restaraunt were very good. Complains are relativel minor. They include lack of a nice outdoor sitting area of porches in most of the rooms, the music in the lounge while we were there was uninspired (and poorly attended) and the overnight parking is extra and very expensive. Score 5 out of 5 My review of Eldorado Hotel & Spa Tamar, Los Angeles, CA, 2005-04-10 El Dorado is a big hotel with a great Southwestern flair that distinguishes it from the standard hotel chains. The location is fabulous, only a short walk to Santa Fe Plaza, no need for a car. The rooms are reasonably large and comfortable, with sitting areas and large bathrooms. The "standard" dining is OK; it's multi-star restaurant, The Old House, is expensive. Beware- everything in the honor bar is stale. Luckily, great food is easily available in town. This is a good business/conference hotel. It's short on kid-friendly amenities, however. |
