The premier hotel in Las Vegas, New Mexico since 1882. Lovingly restored in 1982, the plaza has a full service restaurant, old time Saloon, full cable with HBO, and sits on the beautiful Old Town Plaza, an authentic Southwest 19th century Plaza. With lovely Victorian styled rooms, wireless internet, massage, room service, friendly service, unique shopping, the Plaza Hotel is still the best place to stay in Northern New Mexico. For business, pleasure, or your special party, come to the Plaza.
Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Historically Interesting Anonymous, Indianapolis, IN, 2006-07-21 Take a walking tour through the hotel, the staircases are expansive and quite dramatic! The Las Vegas, NM, Plaza Hotel is located on the old square. And while it is a fun place to stay because of its Old West history, the rooms themselves do not reflect the ambiance you would like to see in a building of this type. I am also confident that rooms overlooking the park across the street were more interesting than the one we had with a view of a brick wall. If the Old West, its culture and architecture appeal to you, the Las Vegas Plaza Hotel is the place to stay...there is even a saloon! We were somewhat disappointed that if you are not eating in the hotel dining room -- which was actually pretty good -- there is nothing else within walking distance. Score 3 out of 5 Historic hotel Nancy, Albuquerque, NM, 2005-09-05 While you're there, visit Tapetes de Llana, a weaving co-op, and stop in at the old-fashioned soda fountain in the drug store for their signature sour limeade! The Plaza Hotel is a charming restoration of an historic turn-of-the century hotel. It's a nice romantic get-away for the couple who wants a quiet retreat. They have wireless internet throughout the building, but coverage is spotty, especially at the rear of the third floor. The heat/A/C system responds SLOWLY to the controls, and may take as much as half a day to reach your desired setting, and the management warns you of this up front. The service in the hotel restaurant has always been marginal in my experience, so don't go if you're hungry or in a hurry. The Plaza's location is excellent if you're in Las Vegas (NM) to go to the antique shops downtown or visiting Highlands University. Score 4 out of 5 Good atmosphere but not for non-smokers Anonymous, 2005-05-15 The Plaza Hotel has a wonderful ambience, however the staff seemed somewhat disorganized at check-in. The mattress seemed worn and uncomfortable. Further inspection found a piece of plywood under the mattress. We requested a non-smoking room, however cigarette smoke was coming thru the a/c vents. The staff indicated that the smoking floor was above our room. We had a difficult time getting house keeping to come and tidy our room after our first night. Our towels were not replenished and we had to go to the front desk to get our own towels. If you like atmosphere, The Plaza is the place...if you are in search of comfort and good service, move on down the road! |
