The Lodge Resort and Spa established in 1899 is a Triple AAA, Three-Diamond resort, nestled in the Sacramento Mountains of Southern New Mexico, surrounded by the mountain pines and aspens of the Lincoln National Forest. The hotel offers a cool, enchanted, relaxing retreat with a premier golf course/shop, elegant dining at Rebecca's Restaurant-named for our resident Ghost, spa services at The Spirit of the Mountain Spa, and boutique shopping at The Mercantile and Seasons. The resort also provides exercise facilities, swimming pool, sauna room and outdoor whirlpool. Packages offering lodging and other resort amenities are available. The main Lodge, rebuilt in 1911 by the Sacramento-Alamogordo Railroad, offers 47 non smoking rooms each individually decorated with a Victorian flair. All rooms come with private baths, on three floors. Rooms and suites echo the style of a long forgotten era. There is a room type to fit every need-cozy standard rooms, comfortable deluxe rooms for couples and families, to Junior Parlor suites. For the height of historic elegance, there are the Honeymoon and Governor's Suites. The Lodge Retreat, built adjacent to The Lodge, houses four non smoking luxury suites, each featuring a fireplace, jetted garden-size tub, private deck and wet bar. All suites share a common area with conference table, kitchen facilities, billiards and ping-pong tables. The Retreat is a perfect enviroment for small company meetings or family get-togethers. The nearby historic Pavilion Bed and Breakfast Inn, yet another Lodge Resort property, offers eight rustic rooms with a cabin-like feeling. Each room in this 100 year-old building comes with a private bath and traditional breakfast for two, while some rooms feature a stone-laid fireplace. Guests also have access to a large common area with a fireplace, soda machines and ADA compliant bathrooms. The building is ideal for housing a family reunion, wedding party or company function.
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Quite an amazing place ! Go there! barbara, Cleveland, OH Yes, it was quite a nice experience... at first when I arrived I thought the check-in took longer than I'd hoped for and when I went into the room my 1st impression was it was small but when I settled in a bit the bed was soooo cozy and comfy I immediatedly didn't care about the size of the room. The only other thing I could possibly say with a bit of negativity was the shower... it was clean and all but old so I think if they'd update those shower heads they'd get all kinds of EXCELLENTS !! Overall though, the staff was more than wonderful, the hot tub and sauna were over the top amazing... they have a spa that is very cool and the restaurant is most most excellent, a bit pricy for dinner but this is a fancy restaurant so be aware of that. The waitress' and bartender and workers all around are so friendly and nice and helpful, you feel like you are visiting family! Oh and the mountains are amazing all around this place.. you have to go in that hot tub and enjoy the 'view'... Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful atmosphere JOSEPH, El Paso, TX, 2007-02-17 The Mercantile store has great sweetbread. The Lodge in Cloudcroft was an excellent place to stay. We only spent a night, but found the room decent and clean. The best part of our stay was the restaurant Rebecca's which is upscale with great food. Score 2 out of 5 Quaint, small, dark older lodge Brenda, Dallas, TX, 2006-08-31 The hotel is beautiful yet missed out on charm. The staff was stiff, unfriendly. The lobby was dark and uninviting. The couches in the lobby must be 30 years old, uncomfortable and room is dark. The bar is full of neighbors, loud and unwelcoming. Room was very small - too much furniture in the rooms. The doors to the rooms are hard to open and close so you have to slam them to shut or push hard to open them. Just a bit disappointing. The outdoor furniture in the beautiful lawn/pool/eating area have cheap plastic chairs that are very uncomfortable. A beautiful gazebo with a fireplace was very nice. Hot tub hard to get into - top hard to raise. Bathroom was fair. Location is beautiful - you can see White Sands from the front door and just want to stand there for hours - no chairs there. The spa was great - got several massages - awesome! They were very nice. You have to schedule all spa services at the front desk (not the spa area) and the front desk couldn't care less if you scheduled anything or not - should have been more open. |
