Very good base for exploring

Chaco Canyon is 36 miles on pavement, then an easy 19 on gravel. This is the closest hotel to the Monument.
This hotel is a very good place to stay while exploring northwest New Mexico. It is a very good value considering all that it offers. Bloomfield is the first town you come to if arriving from the northeast. The hotel is the nearest one to Chaco Canyon Natural Monument, closer than Farmington by 11 miles. The hotel has quite a few laid-back and burger restaurants within walking distance. If you want a more formal place to eat, you will need to drive to Farmington. The hotel staff is very nice. We left the do-not-disturb sign out and housekeeping called to make sure we didn't need anything. The breakfast staff were very responsive to whatever anyone needed. The hotel offers a hot breakfast [built in to the price of the room] with bagels and biscuits, sausage, eggs, gravy and the usual cereals, etc. Our room and the common areas were very clean. I will use this hotel in the future whenever we are in the area rather than drive to Farmington.
