Very basic in good location

The farmers' market on Saturday and Tuesday mornings is right behind the hotel. That's where you'll get a good breakfast and meet some lovely locals.

The Travel Lodge is definitely no frills but it is a satisfactory place to stay near the Plaza without paying ridiculous rates. I appreciated the presence of the fridge, hair dryer and iron in the room. There is no bath tub and the shower is the size of a phone booth, but the room is good sized with a table and chairs. The "deluxe" breakfast is very misleading, though. The make-your-own waffles scheme was amusing, but that plus the orange juice and bananas do not constitute a deluxe breakfast. The people at the front desk were generally very friendly.

very simple and nice for young people

shopping and dining are about 10-15 minutes away by foot, or maybe 5-10 minutes by car, very good location.

The Santa Fe Travelodge was good for those with less money to spend on lodging. i went with my boyfriend, and since my parents paid for the trip, and we were on a budget, it worked out well for us because it was well priced for the 3 nights we stayed there. It was very close to downtown Santa Fe and the Plaza shopping/dining area. I thought, at first, it might have been a bit too modest, but the pool was small, but nice, and the bathroom was a bit too small (i.e. the shower was tiny). but for the price paid, i'd recommend it to a friend, and especially those traveling through the city or New Mexico. It was a great location for those staying a few nights in Santa Fe.
