During your Albuquerque vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Rio Grande Zoo
More than 1,200 animals from 300 species live on 60 acres of riverside bosque among ancient cottonwoods. Open-moat exhibits with animals in naturalized habitats are a treat for zoo-goers. Major exhibits include polar bears, giraffes, sea lions (with underwater viewing), the cat walk, the bird show, and ape country, with gorillas and orangutans. The zoo has an especially fine collection of elephants, mountain lions, koalas, reptiles, and native Southwestern species. A children's petting zoo is open during the summer. There are numerous snack bars on the zoo grounds, and La Ventana Gift Shop carries film and souvenirs. Also check out the seal and sea lion feeding at 10:30am and 3:30pm daily and the summer Zoo Music Concert Series.
Sandia Peak Tramway
This fun and exciting half-day or evening outing allows incredible views of the Albuquerque landscape and wildlife. The Sandia Peak Tram is a "jigback"; in other words, as one car approaches the top, the other nears the bottom. The two pass halfway through the trip, in the midst of a 1 1/2-mile "clear span" of unsupported cable between the second tower and the upper terminal.Several hiking trails are available on Sandia Peak, and one of them -- La Luz Trail -- takes you on a steep and rigorous trek from the base to the summit. The views in all directions are extraordinary. Note: The trails on Sandia may not be suitable for children. There is a popular and expensive restaurant, High Finance Restaurant and Tavern, at Sandia's summit. Special tram rates apply with dinner reservations. Be aware that the tram does not operate on very windy days.
Albuquerque Museum of Art and History
Take an interesting journey down into the caverns of New Mexico's past in this museum on the outskirts of Old Town. Drawing on the largest U.S. collection of Spanish colonial artifacts, displays here include Don Quixote-style helmets, swords, and horse armor. You can wander through an 18th-century house compound with adobe floor and walls, and see gear used by vaqueros, the original cowboys who came to the area in the 16th century. A weaving exhibition allows kids to try spinning wool, and a trapping section provides them with pelts to touch. In an old-style theater, two films on Albuquerque history are shown. In the History Hopscotch area, kids can explore an old trunk or play with antique blocks and other toys. An Old Town walking tour originates here at 11am Tuesday to Sunday during spring, summer, and fall. The upper floors house permanent art collections and, best of all, a huge exhibit space where you'll find some extraordinary shows. A gift shop sells books and jewelry and has a nice selection of Navajo dolls.

not worth the trouble

David

There is alot to do in Albuequrque, NM. With in about a twenty minute drive you can go to the casino and gamble if that is what you enjoy.

Well the over all experience was not worth the price. However, there were a few little things that bothered my wife and I. The bathroom was not satisfactorily cleaned, ie; there were still pubic hairs on the commode! And the bathroom light took about twenty minutes to turn on! We thought it just didn't work but we accidently left the switch on and it finally came on later. Also, the mattress on the king size bed was badly worn and we both didn't sleep very well. With all that said, the Comfort Inn was not a very good hotel!

It's Ok for the price.

Two really good 24 hour waffle house's on either side of the hotel

The morning brunch was great. The rooms however were just Ok and a little cold at night. But for a travel stop over and for the price it's a good option.

Comfortable and convenient

Anonymous, Albuquerque, NM, 2006-10-19

The airport parking shuttle was just down the street.

The Comfort Inn Airport Albuquerque was very convenient. I only had a few hours to rest up before a flight. The proximity to the parking shuttle and airport made for a less stressful trip. There were several nice restaurants nearby and I was able to take a tasty meal back to my room (it was getting rather late). The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and I can be very picky. Having internet access was a bonus and unlike other hotel stays, there was no problem getting online easily.

Dingy Lacking Maintenance

Anonymous, Kansas City, MO, 2006-10-16

The drain for the bathroom sink would release all of it's water through the P-trap onto the carpet below the counter. We asked for this to be fixed on our first night there and got no response, we asked twice more and still got no response, so when we left 4 nights later we had the person checking us out file a maintenance request. We were traveling with a 6 month old child and this was very unhygenic, plus anything near that sink got wet when you released the plug. We lived with the ice bucket under the sink to catch the water, which the cleaners kept removing without us realizing, so we kept having water on the floor. In addition to the sink problem, the water in the shower would take 10 minutes to drain from the tub, after you had turned off the water. Overall the hotel felt like it had not had any maintenance done in a very long time. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, but the blanket was rough and threadbare. I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend it to others.

Great airport location

Anonymous, Norfolk, VA, 2006-10-10

A friendly, family-style restaurant is right next door to the hotel; a safe 2 minute walk from any rooms.

The Comfort Inn Airport Albuquerque is in a great location for easy access to the the rental car return facilities and the airport. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel felt safe. Restaurants are within easy walking distance. The elevator was out of order during my brief stay, but we were told of the problem at check-in and told that repair persons were on the way; the hotel staff was very cordial and offered to help carry baggage to upper floors. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Very friendly and hospitable

RICHARD, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-09-30

Plenty of Restaurants literally within walking distance to the hotel.

The Comfort Inn at the airport in Albuquerque was more then adequate for an airport hotel. They had a very friendly and competent staff. The hotel was located less then 3 minutes to the airport with easy access to the airport.

we are ""bugged"

Anonymous, El Paso, TX, 2006-08-31

A Village Inn and a Waffle House were very close. A longer walk, or short drive away, there was a Fuddrucker's.

The morning after our first night, my husband found a bug in the bed. It was dead, however, it was alive at one time. The bathroom floor was not clean and there were 2 small, dead bugs on the floor for w days. The cleaning staff certainly needed more direction. On the plus side, the breakfast was more than adequate and the attendant was continuously cleaning the tables and the serving area.

Not satisfied

Gary, Las Cruces, NM, 2005-11-05

Upon checkin I ask that my reservation be credited to my Southwest rapid rewards program. I was informed that this stay did not qualify for the credit, I have stayed at a lot of Comfort hotels for more money and less money and I have always recieved SW credits. I then asked for a reciept showing the rate and the 0 balance, I was told you paid a third party and I cannot give you a reciept. Just not the most freindly reception I hgave had. She did advise me that there were other Choice Hotel Properties in the area for my next stay.

The Comfort Inn is easily accessible to the airport and main thoroughfares of Albuquerque. It is located on the southwest side of the city where many of the major attractions are located.

more amenities needed

Anonymous, Oakland, CA, 2005-10-30

Property sits between two restaurants (Waffle House, Village Inn) so food is not a problem. Fuddrucker's and Applebee's are within a couple hundred yards.

Other motel/hotels in the airport area advertise free wireless internet. The Comfort Inn still had wired internet (ok for speed) but needed a deposit. The continental breakfast was also not up to the neighboring hotel's standards. I did not compare room rates, but overall, I use a hotel for sleep and don't need a lot of amenities, but wanted others to know in advance.
