Pheasant's Landing in Hillsborough is fabulous

We came into New Jersey for an evening dinner in nearby Hillsborough and had a lovely experience at The North Maple Inn, wish we could have stayed longer.

There'e the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge which is only 3 miles from the Inn. It is 7,400 acres, with 8 miles of trails to walk and home to 223 bird species. For the nature lover, its worth visiting.

The Basking Ridge was a beautiful Inn. The staff was very friendly and courteous. My room was nicely decorated and the room was very clean. The only problem was that I wasn't able to get a good night's sleep because the bed was too soft because the mattress wasn't firm enough for me to fall asleep. So, I woke up with a backache. Lastly, when I ordered food from their pub, I told them I would go and pick it up myself. However,they offered to call my room when it was ready. Well, no one ever called and my dinner was cold when I finally called 1/2 hour later . The food tasted fine, except it was cold.

The hotel is close to shopping centers and about 50 minutes from New York City

This hotel began life as a corporate training center/educational campus. there are several large resturaunts and conference centers on the first 2 floors. All guest rooms are on the third floor. The rooms are very nice with nice furniture, a computer area/desk with computer hookups including wireless high-speed access. Also included is a color ink-jet printer. 3 telephones including one in the bathroom. The bathroom is very modern with tub and glass enclosed shower. the countertops are marble composite. This hotel is a fantastic bargain for the money, the staff are super friendly and the rooms are very very nice. I was very suprised and will stay there again without hesitation. There is a store in the hotel also.
