Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Review Anonymous Score 5 out of 5 Great Hotel Brian, Bangor, ME The casinos were about 6 miles away and easy to find.We only needed a place to sleep for a few hours and was hoping the room was clean. The room was vey clean, well stocked, affordable, not far from the casinos, and had a continental breakfast. It was everything we were loking for. After staying at other places in AC this was the best yet and we will return. Score 5 out of 5 My review of Best Western Garden State Inn MARY, Providence, RI ROOM WAS CLEAN, MATTRESS WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO HARD, WE WOKE UP WITH BACK ACHES!!!!!!!!!! Score 2 out of 5 Must do better Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2006-09-25 Atlantic City is near. The RainForest Cafe is really good. The Best Western Garden State Inn was not was I expected. Then the lock on the door would not lock. I had to wait until the man (the same one who checked us in) to fix the lock. The rrom was covered with dust and spider webs. The maid did not clean our room. I had to go ask for towels. The good part of my stay was the closeness to Atlantic City. Score 3 out of 5 Ok, if last resort Anonymous, 2006-08-21 Atlantic CityThe place was decent. Comfy bed, 1 Queen no doubles so already this was a plus. Overall the place was decent, small fridge that actually kept our beverages ice cold, microwave, small table with two chairs, TV, bathroom. There were two things that will make us never come back. After being out all day, we came in around 11pm to find our door open about 2 inches. Now this is a motel setting so the door opens to the parking lot. I immediately called the front desk, someone came over and asked if anything was missing, then simply apologized and left. When we checked out the next day it was the same man and he said nothing to us about the incident. Most likely the cleaning people didnt shut the door, nothing was missing (thank goodness I took my jewelry with me). My boyfriend and I were just stunned that the staff was so causal about it. The second thing that was a problem was the smell. There was this odor that was strong when in the bathroom. We weren't quite sure what it was till we left and drove around the building. Apparently there was, an apartment on the side which was part of the building but right where our room was. We finally figured that the smell was food cooking but it mostly smelled like onions and that is what our bathroom smelled like the entire time (scented candle didnt even help). Score 2 out of 5 A gamble Bill, Islip, NY, 2006-04-30 The same road out of the hotel takes you right to the Atlantic City boardwalk area in about 10 or 15 minutes. However, you will pass on that same road a number of other brand-x hotels along the way. It's the nearby Atlantic City casinos I was most interested in. I wanted a room far enough away from the pricey boardwalk area to meet my budget, but near enough to get me to and from the action quickly. In that sense, I was a winner. It was a direct drive of only about 10 or 15 minutes, depending on catching the street lights, to the action. But I was disappointed and suprised by the room. Although I checked in early on a Friday, I was issued a handicapped designed room, and when I went back to the desk to ask for a change, I was told there were no others available, although the place looked fairly empty at that time. Apparently that place has more such rooms than most hotels. The annoyance was that in that room there was only a hand held shower system, but no bathtub, my preference. The shower was only usable by holding the showerehead and aiming it at specfic parts of the body. The attachment for hooking it up to the wall was missing. I complained the next morning, but when I got back that night, it was still not repaired. After my second complaint, a desk clerk came by and used a plastic bag to tie to the post it was supposed to be attached to. Score 2 out of 5 It's just for a few hours to sleep Anonymous, 2006-02-20 the casino's are only a few miles away, and when we can't get a room, we try to stay a third night in a motel nearbyThe room was just ok..no remote and they didn't have one that was compatable with out TV...the Iron was missing, no tub, it was a handicapped room, so only a shower and no soap dish to hold anything, shower curtain was hanging down, and no heat in the bathroom which was freezing,. The continental breakfast was missing juice, it was empty, and stayed that way, no decaf coffee, or hot water to make tea, not bagels left, no egg with sausage left, and we had to track down someone for milk for the cereal, which was the only thing, except a couple of danish, that was left...it was only 8:00am.... Score 5 out of 5 good for a good deal alexis, Phoenix, AZ, 2006-02-12 If you plan on drinking in Atlantic City a cab wont cost very much from this hotel at all!!I chose this hotel because the hotels in Atlantic City were so overpriced. I was only a few miles from all the fun and it was at the most a 5 minute drive to anywhere fun you needed to go. The room was spacious and the bathroom was too. It's not going to be the best hotel you have ever stayed in but it was clean and the staff was friendly and prompt. Housekeeping was good and when I blew a breaker the staff was right over to fix it. I would without a doubt recomend this to a friend |
