Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great Hot Breakfast Included Anonymous, Jacksonville, FL The Asheville Mall and many other stores are nearby as well as many restaraunts and theaters.Days Inn on Tunnel Road in Asheville, NC is very clean and the staff if is efficient and helpful. They include a hot breakfast with the room as well - all this for an unbeleivable price. We did have a problem with our room at first; it had an odor. But we were moved and no problem. The beds were not the most comfortable, but they were adequate. The pillows were very nice. This is a great deal for a family because it is clean, comfortable, has a nutritious breakfast, and is affordable. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Days Inn Asheville/Mall Anonymous, 2006-12-29 Walked to the restarant next door for breakfast, and the street is loaded with all different kinds of choices.I chose the Days Inn Asheville Mall, due to the location and the breakfast bar. The location was great, but I was very disappointed in the breakfast bar. It was just not as good as it sounded. The variety was not there. I went down to eat at the bar, and decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. Score 4 out of 5 Good Value for the Money Thomas, 2006-09-17 Numerous restaurants, most of the chain variety (Applebees, Olive Garden, Longhorn, Outback, Cheeseburger in Paradise) are located along Tunnel Road. You will need to drive to them but most are under 10 minutes away. Unique dining experiences (like the Mellow Mushroom) are available in the "downtown" area of Asheville. The Days Inn Asheville provides value for the money. While not luxurious, it has what you need for a comfortable short term stay. The hot breakfast bar was adequate with what you would expect to find. The rooms are standard with standard furnishings. The tub/shower was a bit narrow and could benefit from the new curved shower rods found in many hotels. The room was clean, the television worked, there were no negative issues causing problems. In all, adequate lodging at a good price, but not luxury accommodations. Score 5 out of 5 Great for the price Anonymous, 2006-07-11 I found Days Inn Asheville Mall to be a very well run and a clean place to stay. The staff was great. The breakfast buffet wasnt quite exceptional, but there was a good enough variety (from fresh fruit and OJ to sausage, eggs, and several kinds of pancakes) to suite most anyone. I was pleased to see the staff eating from the buffet as this suggested that the meals were prepared with a decent regard for cleanliness. The pool was a popular place for the kids and it seemed to be clean and well maintained. I was pleased to find that the customers were not the rowdies often found when staying at budget motels. The pool closes at 10 PM by the way. The room was good size and clean. No cleaning related issues to be found. The sink, shower, and toilet were all in good working order. We had a group of four and were very comfortable and well accommodated with the two king beds and hide-away sofa bed. Score 5 out of 5 Great Value Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2006-07-01 The Days Inn, Asheville Mall was a great value for us. Our room had a king size bed, refrigerator, and microwave. They also left us a bag of popcorn every day. I don't know if this is typical. They also had a full hot breakfast buffet every day. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Days Inn Asheville Mall Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2006-06-13 The hotel was a little less than I expected of a Day's Inn. The bathroom appeared less than clean. Bedroom was adequate. The hot breakfast, a selling point in their adverts, was not at all appealing, and we ended up just eating the cereal. Score 1 out of 5 Poorly Maintaned Hotel and Staff Sally, Durham/Raleigh, NC, 2005-11-26 The Olive Garden is just a short jaunt away as well as other major restaurants such as Red Lobster. The Days Inn- Asheville Mall area was a poorly maintained waste of money. At check-in, you are not warmly greeted. The room needed many repairs and upgrades. The coffee table looked as though it had been danced on with boots, the one chair to sit in was on its last legs, the night stand drawer was stuck closed, an outlet face plate was broken, the sink had several rusty spots, the ceiling in the bathroom was falling in, the paint on the soap holder in the tub had peeled off. Very poorly maintained. When we requested another room we were advised that we could try another but the quality of it would be questionable as well. I requested to speak with a manager and was told that one would be in at 9am. I waited until 11:15 for a manager to show, finally we went out to see the sights. When we returned, I was informed that I had missed her and that she would be back later. At that time I requested another room. We were given keys to a business class room. The clerk let me know that he was doing me a great favor and that I should be grateful. He also rolled his eyes and became somewhat upset when I told him that I would see it this room was up to par. As far as speaking with a manager goes, I finally saw her. She and the housekeeping manager were not too concerned with the state of the room because the bottom floors always get used first. I have yet to hear from the Days Inn people, although I have contacted them several times. This hotel was a waste of money and almost ruined our trip. We will never stay with Days Inn ever again.
