Score 2 out of 5 No other hotel available Anonymous, 2006-10-08 We had to stay at this Best Western hotel because there were not other hotels available in the area in our price range. I am not satisified with the location of our room. The rooms are old and outdated. Score 4 out of 5 A good choice Daniel, 2006-09-23 Noi's Thai Restaurant had the best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand and at a good price. This hotel was a good value. The room was clean and everything worked. Its location was good and the staff was efficient. I didn't use the pool etc., but if I had time I would have. I would stay there again. There are lots of interstate construction on I40 to get to this hotel and I was told by the desk clerks that the construction has been going on for months. Ergo, from the hotel, take US19/23 into town and avoid the interstate after you get to the hotel. The stay at the hotel was accomodating because of the staff assistance. For the money, comfort was not. The beds are not big or long enough for a 6ft tall person like myself. The bath shower head was also a foot shorter than my height and when showering I had to stoop down to wash my face and hair. The atrium area of the hotel houses the inside pool and spa, which was completely occupied by a wedding and wedding events most of the day on Saturday which made it uncomfortable and wierd when walking through the lobby or wanting to partake of the pool. The hotel is inner corridor and in designing this way, the hotel should have thought about the AC exhaust; but appearantly did not because the hotel lobby and atrium areas were hotter than the outside because of all the hot air coming from the backs of AC units in the rooms. A positive, the desk clerks and guest service folks were very nice. When needing more towels and wash clothes for the room, they got them to the room promptly. I would however recommend the stay, so longs as it is the last resort----the staff members were nice. Score 2 out of 5 Disappointment Matthew, 2006-06-14 AppleBee's NextDoor....Great FOOD!!!! Plenty of Gas Stations.....Not far from Biltmore Estate. The room that I stayed in was not vaccumed and the hotel itself was under construction. What I am mad about the most was the fact that I could have spent ten dollars extra and stayed in a much nicer hotel. Not saying that all Best Westerns are bad, but this one had a lot to be desired. A big concern were the people staying actross the parking lot from us (still a part of Best Western)were drinking and being loud. I know this can't be controlled completely and there is nothing wrong with drinking as long as its in the room or something, but this was in the parking lot. It started in the afternoon and lasted at least until 11:00 pm. The only good points of the hotel was the fact that it was conviently located beside an Applebee's. Also, the hotel staff was nice, but the check-in process was a little slow. The staff was also helpful with directions to places near the hotel, which I found to be another plus. |
