Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 A Disaster... hal, Fort Lauderdale, FL Phillips Park and South Park Mall both offer superior shopping and dining.Check in was efficient. No Dining or Bar facility openat time of my visit. Parking garage not open to hotel at this time. One has to walk to the lobby from the garage. I was offerd no Vallet service. This Non Smoking room was Thick with smoke odor. Mind you it comes with an ash tray on the vanity. But is labeled as non-smoking. I have never seen ashtrays provided in non smoking areas. No Toilet tissue and missing towels at time of check in (5:00) PM. No indication my toilet had been sanitised or cleaned. The bathroom floor (Small white tiles) is covered with a dark dingy film. The grout between many tiles is black not white. Theis needs professional tile cleaner not a damp rag! The grout on the shower wall by soap dish has notable mildue. I asked for a different room and was told none were made up.... someone would come Spray the smell away. No information on High speed / Internet/ or hotel services in rooms. My room had not been finished in decoration. The place felt like a detention center. The TV has very poor reception (Snow) on many channels. The beds and linens were nice abd dispite all I slept well. The hotel was quiet I think there were few guests. Conversations I had in elivator and with buisness associates at dinner indicated The place is a disaster, and will never work with the Charlotte comunity. I agree the style and accomidations are inconsistant with ones expectations in this market. Score 4 out of 5 Good confrencing Brian, Hendersonville, NC There were restaurants and entertainment within a short drive of the hotel. The Blake was close to where I was going. It had a little bigger rooms than other hotels. The check in was rather quick. The staff was helpful. Score 5 out of 5 Great value...but no perks Anonymous Think West Elm furniture. Very she-she, modern style foyer. Room small but very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no restaurant or lounge on property. If this was an option, this property would be the new "IT" place in Charlotte. Although, there are many great cute restaurants approximately a $5 cab ride away. All in all, I would definately go back to the Blake!! Score 5 out of 5 Excellent Hotel, very friendly and great location Ellen We were just minutes from shopping, restaurants, nite life and the basketball arena which was the main reason that we were in CharoletteThis hotel was excellent. The hotel was very affordable, excellent customer service not only at check in, but it was our first visit to Charolette and the staff was very friendly and curtious in answering any questions that we had. Even thought the hotel was under construction, it was very modern, up to date and clean. The beds we so comfortable, it was like I was sleepy on a cloud. I rate this hotel a 10 and would reccommend this hotel to all of my family and friends. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2007-03-14 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 Blake Hotel- Long way to go Eric, 2007-03-10 Near downtown to banking centers and shopping- not far to South Charlotte or Queens collegeI stayed at the Blake recently 3-10-07, and it was apparent that they are undergoing a remodel from an 80's upscale hotel. The Blake had redone the lobby in a somewhat tacky retro look and the rest of the hotel was all left over from the 80's. The elevators were not working from the parking garage and you had to pay for parking, they had no restaurant and the bar was not serving regular food... The beds and some of the furniture were replaced in the room, however the bathroom was attrocious, peeling paint- loose toilet, towel rack almost falling off the wall, dirty tiles etc.... The continental breakfast was horrible the bagels were stale, no juices or yogurt- just bagels with cream cheese and coffee and that was IT! The remote control did not work for the TV as well. Other than the check in staff the place has a LONG way to go if they want to be a boutique type hotel It is convenient to the freeways and downtown, and it was inexpensive so I guess I got what I paid for , however I will not be back. Score 2 out of 5 nice view BUT.... Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2007-02-24 TV remote didn't work, and I would have called the front desk to tell them except the phone didn't work either. Vanity sink pipe leaked onto the floor. Complimentary breakfast was non-existent. Score 4 out of 5 Look For The Little Things Dennis, Mobile, AL, 2007-02-12 As you exit the hotel, turn left and walk about 100 yards there is a quick stop and acrosss the street a cozy resturant. What I notice most was the fact that I assumed too much. Like parking would be free! That the fitness center actually would have enough weights for training. Although they didn't offer dining they had a concession stand that was available I believe for most of the night. Being close to the convention center and all it made it easy to come back for something late. I truly enjoyed that. The one thing that I can say was annoying was the TV. The picture kept jumping, but I didn't think to make anyone aware of it. Score 5 out of 5 Great location, great price Anonymous, Durham/Raleigh, NC, 2007-02-12 I would say a cab would be recomendedThis hotel was very nice for the price. Only a short cab ride to almost every place you would like to visit. It Is undergoing renovations so it should only get better. Score 4 out of 5 Critique Frank, Atlanta, GA, 2007-02-04 The Hotel was great. The maids did not do a good job of cleaning room. They left water glasses nasty and half full of water one day. Another day they left the ice bucket half full of melted ice, and left the plastic bag in the water. There was no restaurant available due to renovation. There was no ice machine on our floor. when I went up to the seventh floor as instructed for ice, it looked like a war zone. wall paper laying in the hall. And spackling compound setting the hall. No attempt had been made to clean up the construction site. |
