Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 ok Anonymous, Hilton Head, SC, 2007-02-24 waterfrontNeed soundproofing Score 3 out of 5 Close But No Cigar Richard, New Bern, NC, 2006-11-29 If you crave a steak, that's good it's an Outback. The property was okay but it was not as clean as we would have hoped. All in all really not a very satisfying stay. Score 5 out of 5 A great place to stay. Elizabeth, 2006-10-20 There is a well-known steakhouse right next door with delicious food.We really like this hotel for the ease in locating, the comfort of the room and the walking distance to a great restaurant. We also like the view of the river from our room. Plus they had a nice continental breakfast with friendly staff to help you. Score 3 out of 5 Average Hotel James, Portsmouth, NH, 2006-08-04 Just an average hotel in NC. Restaurant and lounge are closed since the independant contractor had moved on. Other than a Bugaboo Creek, no food, drink, or shops nearby. Everything in New Bern is located at the other end of the bridge (near the Sheraton!). Rooms was average and the pool fronted the parking lot instead of the waterfront. I'll probably stay accross the river next time! Score 5 out of 5 Great Place with Wonderful Views Mary, 2006-08-01 Hotel is right next to the New Bern Convention Center which is also the Visitor Center. We went there first and got great information on things to do and places to eat. They have a new pamphlet that lists the restaurants in town and their cuisine. Pepsi was born here in New Bern so do not forget to visit its birthplace.Hotel is located between two rivers. Every room looks out on water. Lovely in the morning. Breakfast area is tiny, but adequate and the food offered was great and complimentary. We will stay here again and again. Room is large with two armchairs and plenty of space to put suitcases and hang clothes. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Score 4 out of 5 Very friendly staff David, 2006-05-21 Civic center and harber also close to Tryon Palace. The staff at the front desk was very helpfull and also friendly. The room was nice with a good veiw of the river. you could see the boats going out in the morning. The room was clean but there was a big patch about 1 foot square in the carpet. The location was very close to downtown. Score 3 out of 5 Review scott, Pittsburgh, PA, 2006-02-21 Located at the rivers edge, lovely vieww.Score 4 out of 5 worst continental breakfast Michael, 2005-11-09 Has a marina next doorThis property had the most unappealing continental breakfast that I have seen offered in quite some time. The rooms was very nice and I was pleased. The desk staff was immature and failed to greet me as a customer...too busy talking on the phone or engaging in idle chatter. The room made up for the check-in... but the free continental breakfast was a great disappointment and left a bad opinion. Score 2 out of 5 Smelled of Smoke Anonymous, Valparaiso, FL, 2005-10-23 The BridgePoint Hotel & Marina in New Bern, NC smelled of smoke from the moment we walked into the lobby. Even though we had a non-smoking room, we were still able to smell the smoke. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. Although, the first night we got into town, we asked for a recommendation as to where to eat. The staff could not make a recommendation, as they were new to the area. We ended up in an area of town we were very uncomfortable in. The location of the hotel was very nice. It was easy to find our way around once we got onto the highways... Score 2 out of 5 would not recommend Anonymous, 2005-10-19 our no smoking room had had a smoker in it. The cleaning products they used were horrible in their smell. The air conditioner was nisy. Our room was on the parking lot. It did have a view of the river from a mile away. One restaurant limited menu. |
