Close to AirportThe hotel was clean and quiet. The maintainance on the room appears to have been done by a 12 year old! Score 1 out of 5 My review of Howard Johnson Express Inn - Fayetteville Wanda, Daytona Beach, FL, 2005-07-23 The Howard Johnson Express Inn - Fayetteville had lots of parking space. The first room I was given a key to was locked from the inside where it was already occupied by someone else. The reception desk, upon my request, did not want to give me anything in writing stating that I had checked in, etc. Upon insistance and perseverance, they finally printed out the check-in document. The second room was standard in size with a working microwave, microfridge, Iron and Board, telephone and television. The floors were carpeted but were so dirty to the point of being very sticky. There were small holes in the drapes and a separation between the door and the molding that you could see the light coming through. The bathroom was the worst of all. I had to clean the dust and plaster drops from the toilet before using it. There were stains all over the bathtub, rust in the corner of the wall near the door, no working exaust fan nor window. There was evidence that there had been an attempt to paint the entire shower and tub area but this had failed. There was gray duct tape taped around approximately 7 inches of the bottom of the door molding (perhaps to hide a hole from water damage). If I had been able to get a refund of money paid I would have gone someplace else. It was so bad, I took pictures that I will be forwarding on. I would definitely never stay there again. Score 1 out of 5 Look Before You Sleep Sara, Norfolk, VA, 2005-07-20 The linen on the beds couldn't have been changed. There was hair from the previous guest still on the pillowcases. The linen also had random stains on it. There were stains from coffee spills on the wall next to the coffee maker. I don't think it would have taken long to wipe them up. I don't see how anyone could sleep comfortably when they don't know what kind of DNA is in the bed they're sleeping in. My stay was not worth the worry. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Howard Johnson Express Inn - Fayetteville Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2005-07-18 For the money, I guess it was tolerable but for a Howard Johnson Hotel I was very disappointed. The neighborhood was little to be desired. |
