Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Needs renovating Ronald, Pensacola, FL, 2006-06-30 While the interior of the room was clean and attractive (most important to us), the out side had peeling paint and looked as though it hadn't been kept up in years. The "hot breakfast" consisted of very cold scrambled eggs in a buffet tray that no one seemed to be attending. They were dried out and very unappetizing. This motel has a lot of potential for being quite attractive but needs a lot of attention. Score 2 out of 5 Not a pleasant stay Anonymous, 2006-04-28 I did not really see anything except fast food. The hotel was very run down, there was a strange smell in the room. The fitness center was nothing more than a couple of broken pieces of equipment, a TV, and a dirty water cooler with no water. There was loud shouting in the parking lot after dark which made me frightened about going out to get food. There was only fast food nearby. It was not a pleasant stay. Score 4 out of 5 Quaint & Distinctive, but neighborhood was sketchy. Anonymous, Dallas, TX, 2005-09-14 Hotel is not in the best part of town, so be sure to park in the better lit areas of the parking lot (in front.) and be mindful of your surroundings when venturing out of the hotel late at night. Rooms are nicely appointed in the atrium and breakfast was fantastic. But, for the female traveling alone, pick a different part of town. The Best Western Greenville had very unique and impressive rooms in the "atrium" where I stayed. It was refreshing to see so much attention to detail wtih the interior of the building. However, the conditions of the grounds and the lack of safe parking and safe entry doors left a lot to be desired. All exterior doors, aside from the front door in the front lobby, did not appear to be safe and some did not completely close or even lock. I witnessed no security to speak of during the night hours, even though the maintenance staff and front desk clerk were excellent. There were often loud noises from congregating groups of people in the hotel parking lot, but I did not see anyone attempt to disperse them so that other guests could sleep. I, however, had a nice stay and would consider staying there again. But, being a woman and traveling alone for business leaves me feeling that the Best Western Greenville may not have been the smartest choice for my situation. It's a pity that I won't be able to enjoy the attractively appointed rooms because of a lack of security on the grounds. Score 2 out of 5 Family reunion in Greenville Eva, Austin, TX, 2005-06-19 This is an older hotel that needs some TLC. The linens and comfort should be replaced as well as the carpets. The room open to the outside, there mosquitoes were a big problem in the room |
