Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 very cold,no pool,no restaurant. sheri This hotel 's carpeting was older than the antique furniture. Our room was very hot,and you couldn't control the heat. I do not recommend this hotel . Score 5 out of 5 Great hotel for Wash U parents Anonymous, Houston, TX, 2006-10-29 The campus of Washington University in St. Louis is just a few minutes away, making this the perfect location for visiting parents. The hotel is also near the edge of a large beautiful park with the St. Louis Museum of Art and the St. Louis Zoo, in addition to a golf course and miles of walking trails.Extremely attractive and pleasant hotel on the edge of Washington University campus. Old world charm with modern comfort. Each room has its unique personality, and you will find it hard to believe you are in the US. The staff are helpful and friendly. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Cheshire Lodge Sheila, Chicago, IL, 2006-08-06 Boat tour on Mississipi not worth it.The Cheshire Lodge is a nice hotel, conveniently located. It is pleasant, clean and quiet. The only thing that was (very) disappointing was breakfast totally inappropriate for that kind of hotel. Very restricted selection of items : no bread only bad quality over-sweetened donuts, no fresh fruit (only canned peaches!), not even a basic thing as powder chocolate for milk And all served on plastic bowls and cups So I dont regret having chosen the Cheshire Lodge, but if I go back to St. Louis, I will probably try another hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Charming with character charles, Miami, FL, 2006-07-17 Hotel is across the street from Forest Park, where the St Louis Zoo, the Muny Opera Theatre and the Art Museum are all located. It's a great location. The hotel is a classic lodge with interesting lobby, friendly bar/lounge, and comfortable rooms. Location is great, but you must have a car. Not glitzy, but charming. Score 4 out of 5 Quaint English Hotel Anonymous, 2006-07-01 Right down the way there is a wonderful eclectic area with shopping, dinning, and a great nightlife. The location is prime!A little out of date, but for the most part the hotel is cute with character. Score 5 out of 5 Great Decor Anonymous, St Louis, MO, 2006-06-16 The inn is close to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. It is also close to Forest Park which has Shaw's Gardens, the art musuem, The muny, and the Jewel box.I love the decor of the inn. It was like staying at a bed and breakfast. The furnishing were of the renaissance era. There was tapesty on the wall. The sitting room past the lobby had a big fireplace. The bar was great. They also had an outside wine garden. |
