There are also several theaters within several blocks were there is live theater, ballet, concerts, etc.The Hotel Phillips' rooms were large and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The location was within close proximity to entertainment. We did not have a chance to utilize a lot of the hotel ammenities secondary to an event in town. Score 5 out of 5 Retro steven, Tucson, AZ, 2006-10-08 All of the sites in KC can be driven to within 20 minutesFrom the moment we arrived, the staff at Hotel Phillips was helpful and pleasant. The staff knew all areas of Kansas City (colleges, bars, restuarants etc) however the food at the hotel was excellent. The Plaza is 15 minutes down Broadway, thetaxi sevice was reasonbale when we needed it. The hotel is quaint and totally retro. We will stay there again. Score 2 out of 5 Too Hot ernest, 2006-09-24 The Hotell Phillips was nice looking enoughon the outside, but the a/c-heating equipment was not up to par. The a/c filter aws filthy and packed solid with dirt. I call the front desk 4 times on fri-sat.,they did come look at it and then left and I never heard from anyone again. My room was over 75 degrees all the time. When I cheched out of my room on sunday and complained about it, they told me they had the heat on. I believe this was the poorest sevice I have experinced and I would not stay or recomemend them to anyone. Anonymous, 2006-05-05 This hotel is close to theaters, Music Hall, etc.My husband wanted to take me away for a birthday evening and Hotel Phillips was just the place. We dined in the "Chophouse" restaurant, elegant, peaceful- great and attentive service. We had a lovely corner room-very comfortable bed. The lobby is beautiful and takes you back into a past era of grace and elegance. It was a lovely birthday! Score 5 out of 5 Great Weekend Getaway Anonymous, Wichita, KS, 2006-03-26 The hotel's chophouse has wonderful service and food.We enjoyed our weekend away from the kids in at the charming Hotel Phillips. The historic ambiance was a welcome change from the boring hotel chains. The room and bed were comfortable. We could have used a new box of Kleenex, but overall we enjoyed the room. The hotel's Chophouse was pricy, but had superior service and excellent food. We also had brunch on Sunday at the hotel and again it was pricy, but the service and food were great. Score 5 out of 5 The Best Hotel In Kansas City David, Boston, MA, 2006-02-02 While there are not a lot of places to go as far as entertainment, there are plenty of fun bars within walking distanceThe rooms have the most comfortable beds in any hotel that I have stayed in. The fooms were fresh and clean with Aveda amenities. The resturant was fabulous and the waitstaff to notch. Score 5 out of 5 Boutique hotel at a chain price Anonymous, 2005-12-20 Tanner's is a great brew pub. You get a feeling that the room is filled with regulars, and you are treated like one yourself. The menu is broad but flavorful. This was my second stay at the Hotel Phillips, and I was again very satisfied with my time there. The rooms are lush and decorated with a designer's flair; I am reminded of much more expensive hotels in more cosmopolitan cities. Score 3 out of 5 Review Vince, Charlottesville, VA, 2005-11-30 I NEVER GO TO THE HOTEL BECAUSE MY AIRLINE FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED. |
