Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Best Value??! HA! Anonymous, 2006-07-23 America's Best Value Inn-Rochester was definitely not a best value. The complimentary hot breakfast was a styrofoam cup of tea and toast. The microwave was dirty, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, and air conditioning did not work! In the middle of July! Shopping was also within a short distanceMy stay was in the winter months, and the room was warm upon arrival, well kept appearance. Plenty of hot water. and the room kept the warmth throughout the night. Staff was pleasant and very accomadating. Check out was pleasant and ask about my safisfaction also. Score 3 out of 5 out of date Anonymous, 2006-02-08 Downtown Rochester is within 4 blocks of the locations.Everything about this hotel was in need of major renovations. I felt like I walked into a movie from the 70's, though it smelled like mold in the room. . .that brought me back to reality - hey it was cheap. Score 1 out of 5 Old Dirty Rooms Anonymous, Sioux Falls, SD, 2005-10-06 My stay at the Best Value Inn - Rochester, MN was a very unpleasant. The floors looked like they hadn't been carpet cleaned since the 1960's, the air conditioning unit did not work, the TV had no remote control, there was no alarm clock, and the telephone only worked about half the time and had to jiggle the cord to get it to work. The coffee pot that was in the room hadn't been cleaned in what looked like years. There was mold in the coffee filter area that had to be scrubbed and scrubbed to get clean, then when we ran just plan water through it came out brown. We were also told that the shuttle to the Mayo came at 5:45, when it actually was 6:45. This error on their part made me just about late for my doctors appt at the Mayo Clinic. I had to call a Taxi to get us there on time. Overall the room was discusting and I will never stay at a Best Value Inn again. Score 4 out of 5 Pet friendly Marilyn, Detroit, MI, 2005-08-21 Near Mayo clinicThis motel is pet friendly, although not much room to walk them. Motel was somewhat in an uproar, since a new manager had taken over, and was trying to get things back in order. Parking lot is VERY small, but manager did try to get my cargo trailer in a spot for the night. Check in person on duty, wasnt very good. Stood and talked to manager for a long time while ignoring me. Not about important enough things to not wait on customers. Great value for the price though, as long as you dont want a pool, or anything extra, just a room to stay. Although I understand the rates will be going up. Nothing fancy, but clean enough, large rooms. Old motel, but still servicable, but I wouldnt want to spend a lot of time there. The neighborhood, might be a little rough. Score 4 out of 5 Home Away from Home Marlene, Milwaukee, WI, 2005-08-01 We were very satisfied with the price of the stay. It was also very close to Mayo Clinic where my husband had an appointment at 7:00am. The shuttle bus (no charge to us) came and picked us up and took us to our building on time. It would of also picked us up after our appointment, but it was nice so we walked back to the motel, which was only a few blocks away. The carpet in the room could of been alot cleaner, but that wasn't too much of a problem for us. My husband needs to have heart surgery soon at Mayo and I will probably use this hotel again for my stay while my husband is in the hospital. Thanks for all the help booking our room. There was enough to worry about with his appointment, but we didn't have to worry about where we were going to stay. |
