Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Quality room for decent price. Anonymous Spirit Mountain ski resort is across the highway.Travelodge in Duluth was enjoyable. The room was good size with 2 double beds which was nice. They were comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. I liked the separate vanity from the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only suggestion I would make is to expand their breakfast bar/buffet and offer a few more hot meal options, fresh fruit, juices, etc. Score 5 out of 5 a great hotel clifford, Minneapolis, MN the ski hill looks like it would be fun for skiersthe travel lodge spirit mountain was a great hotel. I liked the staff and the room i received. the pool was nice and i liked the whirl pool as well. I liked the location because every morning i got to drive back into town and see the spectacular view of the city. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-09-17 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 Ski Hotel Rebecca, Sioux Falls, SD, 2006-05-15 The room was not comfortable. Breakfast was an extended continental type, but with no fruit. Should always include fruit as a breakfast option. The hot tub and sauna were set apart from the pool in a separate room - loved that! as it minimized the kid presence while trying to relax. Wish it had been pet friendly, though. An excellect location as it is easy to see from the highway and very near the ski mountain, however a distance from the city of Duluth. Score 5 out of 5 Very family friendly Anonymous, 2006-04-19 The Duluth Spirit Mountain Travelodge was very comfotable and the employees were very kind. Score 4 out of 5 Spartan comfort Anonymous, Birmingham, AL, 2005-07-29 MacDonald's is just across the Interstate. The Duluth Spirit Mountain Travelodge is comfortable and clean. If you are looking for few-frills comfort, this is a property worth considering. The poolside rooms are downstairs, so it you have a lot of baggage, opt for the poolview rooms. The pool itself is worth the visit, but if you are not interesed in aquatics, a less expensive place might be in order. Staff was helpful, but not overly so. Good location for visit to Spirit Mountain area, not too terribly far from the airport. Dining options very limited. Score 5 out of 5 Excellent value for price Thomas, Minneapolis, MN, 2005-06-29 The Duluth Travelodge represents an excellent value for the price. There are not a lot of amenities but we were just looking for a budget motel for sleep in a city with a severe lack of lodging rooms (both reasonably and not-so-reasonably priced)during a busy summer season. The bath and toilet room is small and separate from the sink and mirror which is in the main room, but not a real inconvenience. We both found the mattresses to be much harder than the usual motel mattresses, which we dislike, but we are told many travelers actually prefer firm mattresses, so depending on your preference, this could be positive or negative. The decor is North Woods and the furniture is hardwood, so no fabric chairs, just firm wood, making sitting and reading very difficult (although I suppose you could read in bed) The motel is about five miles from the downtown, so a car is needed for any dining or entertainment options, although there is a small Country Kitchen-like restaurant next door. There is no onsite restaurant, but a morning continental breakfast is available, albeit very few choices, but there is a cappuccino machine! The motel also fronts on a busy Interstate, but we had a room on the back side which was remarkably quiet...I suspect a room on the front would be noisy. Check-in was the fastest of any motel I've been to in 25 years...I gave my name and they handed me an envelope with a key and a form to sign...took all of two minutes, and there were coupons for $.05/gallon discount at a gas station next door, a free drink at a downtown restaurant and another which I've forgotten. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful...at checkout they enrolled us in a program for free points covering TraveLodge, Super8 and multiple other motels, making sure this night got credited. There is a pool but we did not view it. We would definitely stay there again for the price if we just wanted a room for the night. Score 5 out of 5 Friendly front desk Susan, Minneapolis, MN, 2005-06-16 Well, the people at the front desk were very friendly, helpful, and courteous to us at all times. The room was clean and cute. The shower did not have the greatest pressure, and the pool and the hot tub were not in the same room. That could be a plus, I guess and in other ways a negative to parents who have children in the pool, but want to be in the hot tub nearby. |
