Score 5 out of 5 great family place Holly, Cedar Rapids, IA, 2006-12-17 The Albertville Premium Outlets were only a 20 minute drive from the Grand Rios. They had great shops. The Grand Rios was excellent. The rooms were much bigger than your standard hotel room. We had requested adjoining rooms and were very happy when they told us that both sets of rooms would be adjoining (we reserved four rooms). The indoor water park was awesome! There were a total of six kids in our group and eight adults. There was something for everyone at the waterpark. The arcade games were a hit for the kids too. We really enjoyed the main restaurant. You could have anything from steak and pasta to burgers and pizza. They even had casino night and a live band! It was a great family vacation destination. We would definitely go back! Score 5 out of 5 Young Family Opportunities Cheryl, 2006-08-09 Pack your own swim towels if you plan to use the water park, and reminder that the water park is extra $$ for most reservations...The Grand Rios has excellent water park and game rooom opportunities for families with young children....the water park is limited to three larger rides for teen students. The rooms are clean (carpet needs replacing) and the bathroom room has very nice shampoo and soap options. The exercise room leave much to be desired, and the main pool and exercise area have limited hours. I also attended a conference there a few days earlier, and the food is moderate for the price, but there are several eating options within a short driving distance. I found the staff to be very nice Score 2 out of 5 Sloppy Management Paul, Kansas City, MO, 2006-07-21 When I checked in, it was 1:00 AM and I was exhausted. The clerk gave me my key and sent me to the very back corner upstairs room, with instructions to "just go back this way, you'll find it". I went out and parked my car near one of the entrances on the side, got my luggage out and headed for the door - only to find my key wouldn't work the door. Had to walk all the way around front again to enter the building (no parking in front). I asked the clerk why my key didn't work the outside door - his reply "I don't know, it should." I said I hope it works in my room and left. There's only 1 elevator in the entire hotel, and it is on the opposite end of the building from where my room was (and this is a very large motel!) Finally reached my room and went to bed. The next morning tried to log in to the free wireless internet... no signal! My room was too far from the router. They moved me to another room. Thought all was settled until the last day when someone walked in my room on me because they had messed up my registration and showed me as checked out one day early, so they gave my room to someone else. Over all, it was a nice room and was clean, but their staff needs to get a clue. Score 3 out of 5 Great motel and motel staff Anonymous, 2006-07-16 Easy on and off of I94 and I694.I was satisfied with the motel and the motel staff. I had a few problems with the pool manager that was on duty and I think we got the problem resolved! I hope, we may find out if I go back... Score 5 out of 5 great fun for your kids Stacie, 2006-06-29 The water park is connected to the hotel but is not included with your room. You have to pay extra.Grand Rios has very clean and large rooms. I loved how comfortable the beds were. My kids loved the water park. We went to the arcade room before we left and had lots of fun. The employee working there was the nicest man. The only thing that we were not happy with was the pizza that we had ordered from one of their restaurants, it wasn't very good. We do plan to go back in the future. Score 5 out of 5 Excellent value Bruce, 2006-06-22 Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel was well maintained and had excellent failities. The indoor waterpark was good . Staff was very friendly. Minor problems were quickly resolved - no TV remote in my room and no paper delivery one morning. |
