Close to all downtown Detroit activities, and a free shuttle to get you there and back! What can be better than that....Well, let me tell you, the free breakfast was excellent with waffles and fresh fruit and Starbucks coffee! With the fireplace burning and the grandfather clock chiming in the parlor, what a relaxed atmosphere. I'll be staying at the Inn on my next visit to the motor city. Score 5 out of 5 Great Romantic Get Away Brian, 2006-10-29 Union Street is a nice casual place The Whitney is a bit pricey but very high endThe Inn at Ferry Street offered a great romantic get away. The room was felt like you were staying at a relatives house, a very well off relative. The staff was more than helpfull, and the morning breakfast that they set out if worth the price of the room. If you're looking for a place that has pool, or is next to a theme then keep looking, but if you want to be treated like a house guest of a turn of the century railroad presidents house then please stop here. Score 5 out of 5 Quiet, beautiful accomodations Susan, South Bend, IN, 2006-06-14 Many terrific museums, like the Museum of Art and the Detroit Historical Museum, are within short walking or shuttle distance from the Inn.The Inn on Ferry Street is truly a hidden treasure in Detroit, Michigan. The four elegant, refurbished homes and two carriage houses that comprise the Inn are tastefully decorated and maintained by a friendly, knowledgeable staff. The tree-lined street was easy to find and amazingly quiet being so close to the heart of the city. We throughly enjoyed our stay in this peaceful atmosphere! Because of the Inn's location, it was very easy to reach many restaurants and museums. They even have a shuttle to take you to your destination in a five mile radius! I only wish we could have stayed longer! We will definitely return! Score 4 out of 5 Good location for Wayne State University business JOHN, 2006-06-07 Good location if Wayne State University is your destination. The Inn on Ferry Street also provides complimentary shuttle to places of interest within a 10 mile radius.Overall the price and comparable quality were in keeping with each other. Although I did not need the restaurant shuttle I believe that would be an added benefit for those not familiar with the area. Score 5 out of 5 Very Nice Hotel Derrick, Saginaw, MI, 2006-02-02 Stayed there during the Super Bowl Festivities. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were comfortably appointed, although I wish the walls were thicker as I could hear everything in the next room and the hallway. The hotel's proximity to Downtown Detroit and the New Center area is a definite plus. There's plenty of dining in the area (casual and fine dining). Greektown, casinoes and the major Sport arena & stadium are only a few miles to the south. Unfortunately they don't have a fitness area, although you have access to a nearby fitness center. Although I'd recommend staying at this hotel, it might not be the ideal situation for a family with children. |
