Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 run down SUSAN, Alpena, MI, 2006-03-06 Although this hotel is convenient to the airport I was flying out of I would not stay there again. Th lobby area was very nice but the room and overall look of the motel was run down and badly in need of a good cleaning and facelift. Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2005-09-12 The Italian restaurant about a mile down the street was very good and easy to get too.The airport was also very close with complementary shuttle service.Score 2 out of 5 NOT HAPPY Anonymous, 2005-08-23 THE DATS INN AT THE FLINT/BISOP AIRPORT NEEDED ATTENTION IN SEVERAL WAS: 1.FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE, THE PHONE ONLY WOULD WORK TO CALL THE FRONT DESK...EVEN THOUGH I PAID THE RIDICULOUS DEPOSIT..FAMILY MEMBERS THAT I HAVENT SEE FOR MANY YEARS...THAT I WAS IN FLINT TO VISIT, WERENT ABLE TO CALL ME, NOR COULD I CALL THEM. 2. THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I HAD MY ROOM DOOR OPEN IN THE EVENINGS UNTIL I WENT TO BED. (IN AUGUST?) 3. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR A HOTEL WITH A SWIMMING POOL.I SHOULD HAD BEEN TOLD AT RESERVATION TIME, OR WHEN I CALLED THE HOTEL TO CONFIRM, THAT THE POOL WAS CLOSED. 4. HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AT THIS LOCATION MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE NEARBY ONRAMPS TO THE INTERSTATE...THE HOTELS CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE INTERSTATE WAS ANOTHER REASON I SELECTED THIS HOTEL...I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD. When we arrived the area was very scary, at least it was not what I felt it was going to be the way it was described by the hotel staff. I was assured that it was very well lit and security cameras in the parking lot and I just felt very uncomfortable when we approached the hotel. They even tried to convince me over the phone to park my vehicle there for two weeks while we would be gone on vacation. I am so glad that I didn't agree to that....I would have been out more money. In fact I just filed for reimbursement on my charge card for the amount the hotel charged to my account. We did see another couple enter the hotel and almost immediately come back out and leave. I guess I figured that they didn'nt like what they saw either.(again, I could be wrong). Whether we get the money back or not...we just felt safer going to the Residence Inn where we had stayed many times before and felt a lot safer. We only paid a few dollars more than the Days Inn cost and we had a full great breakfast free in the morning. |
