Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Needs attention Clora, Kansas City, MO, 2006-10-01 The shopping area was large and the Chicago style restaurant was exceptionally good. However, you have to go through a toll to reach the area. The Portland ME Travelodge needs some loving attention. The bathroom floor was deeply scarred and stained. The mop boards were loose. While the room had been cleaned, the total effect was that it had received some hard wear. The breakfast offered was very scanty and of poor quality. Score 1 out of 5 Not a good choice for me kelly, Shreveport, LA, 2006-09-19 the boat tours are fun and informative. Our favorite was the lobster fishing tour. The crew were very professional and fun.The room was horrible. The box spring was dirty, stained, and had wires sticking out of that were a hazard. My wife and my mother both received several bug bites(either fleas or bed bugs) during the night. The finish on the tubs was peeling. Only two lights in the room worked. Hopefully, the Travel lodge will correct these problems. The location was fine, but experience was not good. Score 5 out of 5 Perfect location, near freeways to all attractions! ALAN, Detroit, MI, 2006-08-24 The Old Port area, Lighthouses and museums are a short drive fromthe Travelodge. The Portland Travelodge was quite comfortable, the Hotel staff were people friendly and the room was very well kept. We could not have asked for a more perfect location. There were many familiar restaurants and stores nearby. The Portland Travelodge was situated near the major highways and we were only 20 minutes from the Old Port area. A fun trip was had by all! Score 5 out of 5 Workout Area Gretchen, Charlotte, NC, 2006-08-21 Shopping center with restaurants and supermarket were nearby.A gym or workout area was missing. Score 5 out of 5 Good summer spot Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2006-07-18 The area is full of big chain stores like Lowes, AJ Wright, JoAnn Fabrics, Shaws, etc. Not the most quaint area to walk around in, but helpful if you're looking for necessities. There's a Denny's right next door if you're not up for the hotel breakfast. The Portland Travelodge was just what I was looking for for my quick one-night stay in town. It was an easy 10-minute drive to the Old Port area of town, and very accessible to a conference that I was attending in the city. The room was very clean and spacious, much more recently renovated than what I was expecting. The pool area behind the hotel was a little noisy, being fairly close to the highway, but it was still quite pleasant and I was very happy to have it on a hot summer afternoon. The free breakfast in the morning was great - 3 kinds of cereal, muffins and other baked goods, coffee and 2 kinds of juice - and was served in the lobby area at small tables - very nice set-up. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely choose this spot again if I were travelling on a budget. Score 2 out of 5 Non smoking rooms smelled like smoke Anonymous, Bangor, ME, 2006-07-02 The best thing I could say about the Travelodge was the proximity to Interstate 95 and easy to find location. The rooms themselves were adequate in size but appeared dingy. We requested non smoking rooms, but both had an underlying smell of cigarette smoke, especially in the bathrooms. Check in was very simple, but the desk clerk appeared inconvenienced when giving directions to the Airport. Overall not a good value for the money. Score 4 out of 5 Quiet Anonymous, 2006-07-01 Westbrook mallGood location and the Denny's Restaurant next door was terrific. Close to Enterprise rental car location and easy access to shopping mall and interstate. An older property but clean. Hot water was not available for shower. Score 5 out of 5 economical Anonymous, 2006-06-02 entrance to interstate highway and all roads for local travel.Best location for what we were doing in the Portland area. Best price for what money we had to spend. Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. |
