It felt like eating at home with the friendly staff.Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-08-08 No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 Business Trip Review Anonymous, 2005-12-22 Quite a few places to eat that were very close. The room was okay but the heating system was a real pain, it went from hot to cold and I could never get it adjusted just right. The other draw back was the room facing the parking lot close to an outside entrance, it was noisy! When vehicles drove up, the headlights shined in the room and lit the whole room up. I would have to check out other hotels in the area first to see if I could get a rate close to the one there if I wast to return to that area for work. Score 2 out of 5 Mediocre Hotel Anonymous, Seattle, WA, 2005-12-04 The Howard Johnson Inn (Portland) was okay. The room was very clean and I was very satisfied with the housekeeping and hotel staff. The hotel itself was nice and clean, as well. The room, however, was fairly plain, and there was only one "lounge" chair, which was quite small. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I felt as though I was sleeping on a rock. There weren't many restaurants within walking distance, either. Overall, I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone. Score 4 out of 5 very family and pet friendly Patricia, Hartford, CT, 2005-11-25 The Maine Mall is just down the street. The Howard Johnson Plaza of Portland was located very near the highway with easy access. There were a lot of families staying there and many dogs. My room was passably clean but not outstanding - there were a few crumbs on the floor near the bed. The parking lot was a little inconvenient with a long walk to the entrance and it was very icy. I would stay here again though because the location met my needs. Score 5 out of 5 Good quality and amenities for the money Anonymous, Nashville, TN, 2005-08-28 Grocery store across the street next to a Kohl's.The Howard Johnson had a large comfortable room. There was a coin operated washer and dryer which was very convenient. There were two hot tubs along with a large pool. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The only downside to staying in this hotel was the location. Seems to be in a rowdy part of town with strange characters on the streets at times. But, good value for the money you pay. As far as the hotel goes, it was great. There is a Kohl's near and a grocery store across the street. There is also a subway at the gas station next to the hotel. Hotel also has a dining area. Score 4 out of 5 Convenient wireless internet connection Linda, Columbus, OH, 2005-05-19 Was a nice enough hotel, conveniently located near the airport and had reliable wireless internet connection for free. |
