She questioned him and stated "But we have several others available" and his respnse was small and left the office. Little did I know that he was speaking of my room! I was given the room next to the office that was the smallest room I have ever stayed in! The bed was hard as a rock and the room had an oder to it. Being that it was late when I checked in and had to rush off to a business appointment I did not have time to go through the hassle of changing rooms. When I returned for the evening the hotel staff and a few "friends" were standing outside of the hotel "lobby" drinking and smoking. I had to pass through them to get to my room. I will never stay there again!!! Score 5 out of 5 Great value Anne Marie, 2006-10-13 The Bangor Motel 6 was a great no frills value: clean, quiet and comfortable. Due to highway interchanges and odd road layouts, it was a bit difficult to find, but worth it. Including the price of a good, healthy breakfast in town, we spent less than at the competitive neighboring hotels that offered continental breakfast. We would definitely choose it again. Score 4 out of 5 Cheap Valerie, 2006-07-31 Several malls nearby, motel gave paper with location of malls from motelRoom adequate price was good, had microwave and fridge.Gave Senior rates.Good location for shopping.Would have like a pool. Score 2 out of 5 you get what you pay for lisa, Detroit, MI, 2006-06-18 About a two mile drive will take you into the old downtown area where we had brunch on the sidewalk at the Bagle Factory. Full of locals on a mid sunday morning, this renovated cafe was very unique. The Bangor Motel 6 was dissapopinting it it a very old motel that has not had much if any updates. The room was clean. Score 4 out of 5 good Value Anonymous, 2006-06-08 Not far from good restaurants or fast food.Value is very good for the money. Fridge & microwave in room was a plus. They need to have better quality bedding(burn holes in blanket). Also need bath mats in shower(accident waiting to happen). Otherwise staff was very courteous & helpful. Overall a good choice. Score 5 out of 5 nice hotel carol, Boston, MA, 2006-03-06 resturants were close, and there was a refrigerator and microwave in my room to keep food bought from the store, great stay...Hotel 6 in Bangor,Maine, I enjoyed my stay , my room was comphy, and clean nice shower , near the hiway, would recomend this hotel to all, I plan on using it every time I go to Bangor. Score 2 out of 5 Noisy Anonymous, 2005-12-29 I realize this is a Motel 6 and I probably shouldn't be too upset regarding the quality. However, it was very, very noisy and I had to call the front desk twice. The front desk clerk was somewhat helpful but not overly so. I would recommend the Super 8 down the street. I had to spend an extra night and that is where I stayed. For an extra five dollars you receive a continental breakfast, hot drinks all day and a better quality room. Score 2 out of 5 Basic Hotel - No Extras Marlene, Bangor, ME, 2005-10-15 Lots of shopping in BangorThis Hotel 6 was very basic and seemed like it needed upgrading. It was threadbear and tired. Score 1 out of 5 Nightmare in Maine Street Jack, Omaha, NE, 2005-10-07 The Holiday Inn Express 6 blocks down was very nice - had a lobby we could wait in for 3 hours till our children could arrive and pick us up. The Motel 6 didn't have an official lobby. One little wooden chair by an old coffee pot. Couldn't have gotten both of us inthere w/carry ons from plane if we tried! The motel six was much further to reach by Taxi than advertised. Maybe "By the way the crow flys" it was w/in 2 miles but over 5 to reach by Taxi as was "Behind" aorport. Check in was done by a tired lady not wishing to make our late night arrival a pleasent one. The posting on the counter of 11 a.m. check out was 1 hour earlier-therefore an extension till noon was all they would accomodate. We slep w/socks on and laid the bedspread out upside down on the floor to make a walk way to the restroom through the night. When we checked in we asked for extension and since the sight had stated noon they would allow that. Next morning at 11 a call from front desk to see if we were checking out as was time to.I stated that we were granted 1 hr extension. The nearest eating facility was across two major highways at least 6 blocks down.No sidewalks in area. We pulled our suitcases along MAJOR highway next morn for lunch. If we would not have had a good sense of humor we may have both had stress heart attacks. Score 3 out of 5 Just as we suspected Anonymous, 2005-08-27 Shopping, dining, and all those things were not far from the motel. If one is interested in airports, it also was close by.The room was adequate for our needs. It was exactly as I had thought it would be. We knew that we were only going to sleep there and be gone the rest of the time. The refrigerator and microwave were a suprise, though we had no need for it on this trip. The beds were not luxurious but comfortable. The towels were a little on the thin side, but did dry us off. I did not see much in the way of restaurants nearby. The city is not far away so that did not present a problem. |
