Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 New Pool but "refreshing" not very warm Jane, Hartford, CT The bangor mall is only 3 miles away. The staff was very friendly. Our TV didn't work very often and they had to come fix it 3x. We got a roll away for our child and the reason we picked the hotel was for it's "heated Pool". The pool is brand new but only heated to about 68-70 degrees. There is a small game room which my daughter enjoyed. There is a Ground Round 10 feet from the front door. There was a big water stain in the hallway and some peeling wall paper. Also, while we were there, 22 students checked in for the winter semester to a local college. All and all, I think we would stay down the road at the Fairfield Inn or Ramada. They both have indoor pools and seemed somehow cleaner. It was right next to the airport and we heard lots of big planes. Their bfast was nice. Score 5 out of 5 Review Jesse, 2007-02-11 two bars very closeScore 2 out of 5 convienent location to airport Anonymous, Portland, ME, 2006-09-01 THe Ground Round Restauraunt was right next door for a good choice for lunch or dinner.Location is convienent to airport if that is your interest. There was no sink in the bathroom, only out in the room. The room had a damp, musty ordor. The T.V. controll did not work well. Breakfast bar was adequate for a quick breakfast. Score 2 out of 5 Disappointed in Bangor Days Inn Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2006-08-02 Maine Coast and all the scenery you could ever want. The good, convience to our family activities. Continental breakfast was okay. Fruit selection was limited. check in and out was easy. The not so good. Bedding didn't fit the beds. Sheets kept coming off the both mattresses. Pillows were very small and not fluffy. Score 5 out of 5 Good Basic Hotel JIM, Hartford, CT, 2005-12-29 Very convenient to the highways and major local roads.Days Inn Airport Hotel in Bangor, Maine is your basic, decent hotel. We were looking for a reasonalby priced place to sleep. Our days were spent visiting and we spent about 8-9 hours a day at the hotel. The room was clean, the pool was warm and clean and the staff was as helpful as you would expect. If you need a lot of extras, find somewhere else. If you want a nice, clean place to sleep, this is perfect. Score 2 out of 5 Not as Advertised Kenneth, 2005-10-28 I encountered several problems related to my stay at the Bangor - Days Inn Airport. First of all the website listed an indoor pool and a fitness center. The pool was under construction and unusable and there never was a fitness center. Next, my first room was very musty, but the clerk was able to change me to another room which was better. I needed to use my laptop for business and was able to connect, but it was the slowest response time that I have ever encountered. Lastly, upon checking out I requested a detail bill showing the daily charges for my expense report, but was given a 0 balance report with no detail listed. I was told that this was because I had prepaid with my charge card. I find this very unusual. On the plus side, the staff was very courteous and the location next to the Ground Round worked out very nicely. Score 2 out of 5 Under Renovation Charles, Boston, MA, 2005-10-23 The whole town of Bangor is just plain neat. This is and has always been a nice town to spend time in. Small, friendly and picturesque. The hotel is not in a bad location but it is undergoing addition/renovations. The parking lot is a mess. No overhang for inclement weather loading/unloading. Not so good in Bangor with rain and snow on the way. The sink and mirror was in the room with the beds not in the bathroom. Don't remember seeing that for quite awhile. Didn't like that feature. The chairs in the room were badly stained, as though someone had an 'accident' or maybe it was just a wet bathing suit? Not good. Afraid we can't recommend this motel in it's present state. Should probably be closed until the work is done. |
