Wonderful staff

Jason, Louisville, KY

The Howard Johnson staff were very friendly and helped me get the most out of my vacation. The hotel currently (Jan 06) has no restaurant of its own, but did do a nice continental breakfast, and the Italian restaurant down the hill offers a discount for hotel guests for dinner and is well worth the money.

Greatr Location

Anonymous, New York, NY, 2006-06-28

The Italian Inn, which is a short distance from the hotel, serves excellent Italian food as well as seafood. The prices are very reasonable.

This hotel was very close to the major highways leading into DC. The staff was very helpful! I was traveling with my 88 year old father, at night he wanted a cup of tea. The rooms come with coffee but no tea. The clerk at the front desk made sure my father got his tea! The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There was a microwave and a good size refridgerator for those traveliong with families. This is a great amenity!

Ghetto hotel

Anonymous, 2006-05-28

We picked this hotel because it was close to the RFK stadium.

This hotel is not in a great location. The front desk was hard to find. We drove through the lot 3 or 4 times before he found the front desk. The room numbers were not number correctly. The hotel doors did not close all the way, leaving it an uneasy feeling when you slept. The hotel breakfast in the morning was poor. They only had Eggo-waffles that we had to toast ourselves with one toaster for the entire hotel. Poor! The pool at the hotel was very dirty. It had a scum a the top of the poor and dirt and leaves on the bottom. Needless to say I did not go swiming in the pool as I had planned on doing. I was expecting a resturant in the hotel. There was none. I did not feel comfortable driving around to look for a place to eat, and there were no recommendations of a place for dinner.

Business trip

Anonymous, Newark, NJ, 2006-02-05

There's a diff fast food place just a few blocks from the hotel.

The entrance was a little bit confused i quess it was due to construction going on at the moment. The location was very good -- it was really 5 long block to my business partner meeting.

hotel staff was very nice and friendly

Rfk football stadium short drive. rips resturant about 5 miles away, great food(buffet)

Check in was fast and friendly, the room had a broken chair, old bathroom with burn marks on the bathroom sink. the top bedding layer was dirty, sheets were clean. The only dinning in the area was at the end of the property and it was very expensive. the only good reason to stay at this hotel again would be to goto RFK stadium for an event. which is about 2 miles away.

Very nice Italian restraunt adjacent to the hotel

This hotels enterance was easy to miss as there is only a very small sign hidden in the bushes from the direction we arrived. The hotel is on a very steep hill and the lobby is in the middle of the hotel's 3 buildings and looks like a passageway rether than a lobby enterance. Our room was in the back of the building looking over a trash filled alley. The room had a dank smell and the tub backed up with water as the drain was clogged with hair. The Washington DC area is expensive but I should have shelled out a few more bucks and gone somewhere else.

You get what you pay for.

It wasn't the lap of luxury but it served its purpose. The building is a bit old and the elevator is small but I slept fine and the continental breakfast was adequate. I'd stay here again if I had to but might look for something closer to the capitol. I miss Hojo's ice cream!
