Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great Location! Christopher, 2007-02-18 You are within a short walk (approx. 2 minutes) from anything you want: shopping, dining, waterfront, art galleries, and historic monuments. We had a great time at the Maryland Inn one of three that make up Historic Inns of Annapolis. The service was great. They were very accommodating with our early arrival. The valet service was wonderful and a nice plus to the overall staying experience. The room was small but very cozy. You will not feel like you are missing out on anything. We felt like we were back in the eighteenth century. It was a great feeling! The location was perfect right on the main street in Annapolis. We would highly recommend this experience to any of our friends! Score 2 out of 5 great location Anonymous, State College, PA, 2007-02-11 Ask before checking in "which of the three properties will you be staying in" before going to the main check in desk with all of your luggage. The room was nicely redone with a new bathroom, but ancient carpeting. It had a nice fireplace in it and was interesting to stay in. Its only heat source was an A/C which would cool or heat. It heated very well, but had no thermostat so it was either hot or you had to shut it off, so it was cold. The bed, although it was only full size was very comfortable, the room was quiet. We loved the location at the Maryland and loved the restaurant below (The Treaty of Paris- they had a fantastic Sunday Brunch). We were looking for a historic inn and it was definately authentic. You have everything you could need there -- restaurants, cafes, shops, a CVS for forgotten items, etc. There are three hotels within a small radius that make up the Historic Hotels of Annapolis group. It is run centrally at a check in desk in one of the hotels. I stayed at the Robert Johnson house which is across the park from the check-in location. The hotel was pleasant, charming, and the room nicely appointment and clean. The bathroom was large and pretty. The room was a bit on the small side, but the bed was lovely and the linens nice and I was alone, so it was perfect. The value was great and the location could not have been better. The only thing I would say is that you should not need or expect much service here. There is one check in desk for three hotels and I was in a hotel without staff. The front desk phone didn't work (perpetual busy signal from my room), so I was not able to get any service. I was only there for one night so this was not a huge problem, but arranging for a cab was made very inconvenient. Also, the fact that the hotel was across the park from the check in hotel was a bit inconvenient in terms of schlepping luggage. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Loved it. Score 5 out of 5 Quaint and memorable Anonymous, 2006-12-10 Loads of shops and dining. The Maryland Inn was a 'step back in time' and a most enjoyable stay. The room was spacious and the bathroom was a great size for two people. Close to everything in town--easy walk. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, New York, NY, 2006-07-31 We cycled to Quiet Waters Park, 4 miles away, and rented kayaks; a pleasant thing to do on a beastly hot day in Annapolis! The room was nice, but small. There is only one mirror (in the bathroom, none in the bedroom area,) which makes getting ready for a wedding a bit difficult. Although it's a "historic inn," there are modern touches like plasma tv, and hi-speed internet access. Best thing is the location; you can walk to everything. Also the Naval Academy is a great place to tour.Historic Inns of Annapolis is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The best part about staying there is the great location, right downtown Annapolis, within walking distance to everything. I will definitely stay there again. |
